Scissors into Pocket Power Plier?
on: August 09, 2016, 02:49:13 AM
Hey guys -

Did a quick scan in the forum but didn't see what I'm after.

I appreciate how easy it is to move the tools around on the SOG MT's but I'm assuming there's a way to add scissors to the PPP?

If so, which tool do I need to rob the scissors from?

Lack of scissors is one of reasons I pretty much put the SOG into the drawer and moved over to the Vic MT. But I do appreciate the lightness and trim fit of the SOG. Heavy duty enough for the casual tasks that happen along. But I'd like scissors. But I do have my minichamp align usually. But, it's fun to mess around, mix and match. Lol.

Its definitely doable. I have personally put some 91mm Vic Scissors onto mine:

I used a Dremel tool to widen the stock pivot hole, and although I dont have a pic, the scissors did over rotate out, and did not snap into place.

I want to say ThePeacent put Wave scissors into a Power Plier (PPPs older brother, with the same retention method and pivot size), which should be a drop in mod.

SOG scissors (available for purchase online) may work despite SOG saying otherwise, but they aren't very good, so I would avoid them.

So for the basic unskilled, not mechanically inclined, person such as me, if I just want drop in, then scissors from a Wave will work it seems.

Appreciate the replies!

Just tried wave (new shape) scissors here.

PST II scissors or possibly old style wave scissors (if they are the same) may be a better option.
