August 2016 Donation Draw- Reinforcements have arrived!

Here we are, about 25% of the way into the month, and only 9% into this month's draw.  I guess I'll need to come up with something good, right?  Well, I think I have, and I'm pretty certain it is as solid as reinforced concrete.

What do you reinforce concrete with?  I mean, isn't concrete pretty darned tough by itself?  Well, yes, it is, but if you ask any construction engineer, it also suffers from being brittle, especially with regards to temperature changes, and so you need something with some flexibility to compensate- basically something for it to adhere to and hold it together when it wants to crack.  The obvious choice is steel, since steel is flexible, tough, and more importantly, cheap.  Steel bars are inlaid into the concrete before it sets to reinforce it, which is what gives us the term "steel reinforced concrete."

Years ago when I used to drive a transport truck I used to visit a plant that manufactured steel reinforced concrete beams and the like for construction and road works companies.  It was a cool operation, with a giant conveyor that hauled wet concrete all the way to the top of a giant tower, where it was then dropped down under pressure into whatever mold they were using at the time.  It was a cool operation, and more than once I joked about how they needed to let me use their "water slide" at least once.  This is what it looked like:



Apparently that water slide is not as much fun to ride as it seems.   

Anyways, these steel bars that are used to reinforce the concrete are called (get ready, this is technical) reinforcement bars or "rebars" which brings us all the way back to the thing you probably all decided to open this thread to see, and that is this month's Donation Draw Prize.  Have I made you wait long enough?  Do you think you know what it is now?

Each $10 you donate gets you another entry, but only if we make the goal of $275 for the month.  If we don't make the goal, I'll find some other way to give this away.  Or maybe I will find some way to embezzle it into my own collection....

And, if we reach the goal of $275 before midnight on the 15th (Forum Offset Time) then we will find something to give away as our Early Bird Draw, so you will probably want to get in on this earlier rather than later.

Okay... Even broke-dudes-who-can-barely-pay-for-their-phone-bills are able to find some cash lying around for this donation BUT there is an issue: PAYPAL STOPPED WORKING IN MY COUNTRY
