I only ever pocket carry a traditional and there's always one in my pocket.

My current carry is usually one of these 3.

This one is currently in my pocket.

They look way too immaculate to be regular carries. Mine stop looking like that about 30 seconds of me taking ownership of them  :D

Nice knives

I use the knives every day, including for my lunch, I keep them clean and flitz'd up that's all. The current one (Queen Copperhead in Curly Zebra) has well over a year of EDC on it, mainly last year. The Navy Knife has some significant damage to the (untreated from factory) wood scales since that picture was taken, I've retired it from daily carry after a few months for repair and treatment.

Here's a pic of the damage to show that I really am carrying and using these :) The Queen is a far harder wood which has practically no wear to the handle, it does have some slight pitting on the tang due to the combination of a particularly salty salami, a chrome tanned belt pouch and me getting hosed down after working on a site full of asbestos dust :D.

That's better!  :D Those scales don't look too bad other than a bit of cosmetic damage. Thanks for showing the character it's picked up in use :2tu:

Problem with the scales are that they're reclaimed Chestnut barn wood, untreated and incredibly soft. Dent with a fingernail soft. I'm going to try using an iron to pull up the dents a bit then treat with a mixture of Linseed oil and Tung oil to seal and harden the wood.

Thanks!

I ironed the scales on friday which did help a lot with the dents. I had to be very careful, the wood when wet was so flaky I was scared to touch it! I'm going to sand down the results very gently this week. I won't be able to get the oil for a while (5 weeks) so the next update will be then unfortunately.

Hey jd. If we do something like camping or hard use during this challenge, are we allowed to use a fixed blade for the things that the traditional can't handle? Also, if we carry a blade for protection purposes only and do not use it for daily tasks during the challenge, i am assuming that that is OK? Thanks!!
