Leatherman knife sharpening?
on: August 22, 2016, 10:01:12 PM
So I noticed something with some of my leathermen. The sharpening angle is far from exact on some of them and the shoulder on the bevel on the tip is sometimes so big I had to thin it out with a course DMT stone.

Anyone else got this issue?

I don't think I have really ever had a problem with any of my PE, SE or combo blades even  Some I have had to sharpen as they were second hand though :tu:

Newer. The real "issue" was that on one of my new wave's and my skeletool cx's blades were very thick and broad in the tip right above the edge, plus the edges wasn't the same angle on both sides, anyway, I thinned them out and everything is fine and dandy now! I used to be a chef so I'm really used to 15 degrees on each side and they didn't pass my phone book paper cutting test, so I had to do something about that  :D :D

Yup, LM is notorious for uneven bevels. Nothing strange there. They come sharp from the factory but the bevels aren't always even.
