I have to liberate the Classic from my key chain? Ok,  might switch to the Exec on a dangler with a AAA flashlight. The Classic would probably fly away to wherever small,  pocket goodies go to live.

Nar I think he meant the extras. You can't be in the challenge with say a Pioneer and keep a Classic on your keyring etc etc.
What if the keys stay in my lunchbox or locker?

I'll let hiraethus make the call given he is watching over the challenge. If it was my call I would say no.

Here are my choices; Classic SDs, Executive, 84mm Waiter, Wenger (Waiter? ).  However,  I expect the Kamp King and Bear Country knives are off limits. I have to say I have always really wanted the Wenger to work.  It's only missing scissors. That would be darn close to an awesome edc knife for me.

Wot the lobster said. It's a minimalist challenge. One SAK at a time - no backups, no key chain tools just in case, no sneaking a Surge into your bag cos you think it might come in handy.

Me too. Just took the Solo already to get used to the idea of minimalism ;)
Yesterday I took the Wenger Matterhorn Plus, which is the biggest SAK that I own, so the contrast with today couldn't be bigger

Are there any participants in a time zone where it is already october 1st? :D

I was thinking again I might try this, I could EDC two layer models for a month, as frustrating as the combo tool is (Compact), or being scissorless (Pioneer, Spartan), or no can opener at all (Manager), but rule 5 DQ's me also. If I had to replace my SwissChamp and Spirit in my portable tool bag with dedicated tools it would easily triple (or more) in size, so I guess I'm still going to have to enjoy this one from the sidelines.

Looks like it's going to be an interesting pumpkin carving season!

For opening cans, I actually find the combo tool on my Bantam  easier to use then the seperate can opener on my Soldier... The latter is better as a bottle opener, though

I locked Pikachu in my Box O SAK's this afternoon, and it is being guarded by Cthennifer, R2 and Squidward for the 30 days of the challenge.

Unfortunately, I need to have scissors for my whiskers.  So,  I've decided on the Executive,  but might go for the Classic SD.
I would love to have Magentus' box of goodness,  though.

Got a cheese sak, two bantams and an old cross popular so far. I have a compact inbound and will hopefully be able to mod one or two other 2 layer bladeless tools as the month progresses.
Full steam ahead, and damn the torpedoes >:D

I carried the Executive today,  and it will be the only tool with me when I do the ALS walk tomorrow in Denver in honor of my Mom. I'll take a day pack ( Camelbak Cloud Walker) with a first aid kit,  and a light wind breaker. There will be lots of wheel chairs,  and other mechanical devices out for a 3 mile lap around the lake.  We'll see if the Exec comes into play.
