Bigger Surge sheath
on: September 22, 2016, 08:00:36 PM
[bI Have a stainless LM Surge with the old set of jaws. I love the tool. But I carry an extra complete set of saw/file blades and the bit set, plus a large ferro rod and a bit extender, so as you can imagine...with the nylon sheathe...ummm I need me some room to breathe!!

Any suggestions as to what I can do for a rugged sheath that won't cost an extra $100??

Thanks Raven [/b]

Dual pistol magazine pouches by various manufacturers.  You can fit the surge in one side and your accessories in the other and because they are side by side they aren't so thick that you can't get through a door and they will conform to the curve of your body.

Carry a Cold Steel Ghurkha Khukuri, and a 629 with Hornady 240 XTP 44 Mag, plus 2 speed loaders on your belt, and you're dodging trees boys, not doors! ROFL!!

I'm not LEO or military, have CP, walk with stainless steel crutches that weigh 4 pounds each.

I need a strong belt, guns that will drop a pig/deer, knives that can bring home some bacon for mom and the puppies, and my tired old butt home from the trip in one piece.

Come to think of it, a set of suspenders or a pack horse is a grand idea!!

http://skinthsolutions.com/product/xl-shield-sheath/ or http://skinthsolutions.com/product/2xl-shield/

Looks like the one Jaime Hyneman used in the first season of Mythbusters...never could find an answer as to what he used...I WAS thinking...then you came along...BINGO!!

+1 for the Skinth XL Shield. I use one to carry the same loadout as the OP but have a AAA light instead of the ferro rod. @ hiraethus: 2XL Shield isn't as tall and won't work for Surge. If you want a bigger solution than the XL you need the Mondo Shield.
