To stay ahead of China in terms of quality and speed, Leatherman continually upgrades its factory machines and processes. Though it can’t compete with China’s low manufacturing prices, the company is dedicated to its community and has chosen to support U.S. workers and rely instead on quality craftsmanship."
So in China they use old fashioned slow machines, doing things the traditional way, as they did in the old days
Chinese products (like those made by LM competitors
, or maybe they mean the SAKalikes only ) are made badly and slowly, with no craftsmanship (what do the Chinese know about knives and tools... ) but they are cheap ( What about the SOG powerduo - badly made but not cheap, 100% SOGs fault...).
I think there are some threads around here that may disagree with LMs claimed brilliant quality, on their recent products.
It seems like Lm's sales brochure, to me,and I do like all my Lm tools (all are older tools, made by those slow, rubbish, old machines ) ...
