EDCing with a TWIST
on: October 08, 2016, 02:47:51 AM
After reading the article mentioned before. I was eager to try a Multitasker Twist as a EDC item.

Well, finally last month I got the opportunity to get one !  :mail: A perfect timing, since I am starting a new commissioning and plan to use it extensively.

This images show the unboxing procedure:

The quality and craftsmanship as expected, is superb ! It has the looks, feel and texture of a tactical weapon.  :salute:

Also being made of machined aluminum is very light.... And it fits perfectly in mi workbook ! :tu:

Another thing that i like is that it is not as bulky as I imagined, here is compared to my regular EDC pen.

So far I have been using it for several tasks as a screwdriver, and it is great !

Now I think i have found some uses for the other tools...

I will keep you all posted !

I should be getting one of these in the future. I do like Multitasker items.

If it was also a pen, I would possibly carry it in place of my current pen.

Looks a lot better than the Smith & Wesson Armorer tool that I have.

Indeed. I am in need of an update in regards to the Multitasker collection. I do not have the Twist, or the Multitasker Version 3 as of yet. I am quite happy to say that should be fixed soon.

I've been looking at these since they came out. Price is what is holding me back, but it looks a serious companion for a pliers based multi- a standard quarter inch bit holder makes a lot more sense to me than the proprietary game with LM's bit system. But I am in their target demographic- I would love to be able to get their 3/32" punch and sight tool stand alone for my existing bit driver selection.

That's precisely what i was thinking Monrogue, actually my next mod is going to be a pen bit, one of the reasons to get the Twist was Evil's Pocket Octo-Driver.

Glad to hear that Chako ! You are going to love them. :tu:

Yup, they are a little pricey but you are not going to regret it, by the durability and quality you get they are worth every cent.

As i said before...

Last days I have been working almost exclusively on the computer, but today I am going to test the Dental Pick using it to reset the configuration settings of several ethernet switches, instead of using the ubiquitous paper clip.

But first lets get something to eat... With the help of the Twist !

Lunch is ready ! And a little posthumous tribute to Kenny Baker

I'll let you know how the test goes.  :tu:

The TWIST as an IT Tool

The Twist as an IT Tool 8)

It worked perfectly to setup the ethernet switches  :tu:

And the clip works like a charm to unplug stubborn cables

I can easily imagine Neo having one of this with him

I didn't realize it is geared more towards gun related uses, which isn't any use to me.  Still, it looks like it has several useful implements outside of that.

Indeed it's quite versatile for its size ! Even just as a regular screwdriver its quite capable  :tu:

For example, last weekend I had to check the mechanism of a lifting table.

Which mean to deal with several screws that appeared to be out of it's league

But apparently there's no such thing as too big for the Twist !  :o

The problem was fixed...

And the paintshop went back to run as usual :D

If I used drivers more often I would be tempted, but I only occasionally, if not rarely use drivers.  Even when I do, it's usually the basic phillips or flathead.  It would be handy to have in the house though, but I don't see it as a necessity in my EDC setup.

The TWIST at the Rebar Mill
Reply #18 on: November 24, 2016, 08:30:17 PM
Sorry I have been out for some time. I had to jump form a project to another with no time to rest in between.

Now the TWIST will be put to test at a Rebar Rolling Mill.

This is how the steel blooms enter the process...

And this is how they end.

Lets see how this brave little one behaves at the mill

When I saw this, my first thought was a sonic screwdriver.

Then a I thought of a Thrunite Ti4.

Nice tool!
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!
