FT: 'Old Skool' Benchmade 401 Panther
on: October 26, 2016, 01:34:36 PM
I'm offering up this Benchmade 401 Panther for trade. From the late 80's/early 90's, this is from the period when Balisong became Benchmade so a nice early example:

It's in pretty good condition. Not perfect, it has been used but it certainly has that Old Skool Kool if you get my drift. Combi-blade is one of the most useable i've come across. Liner lock is as solid as a Sebenza. original pocket clip which, if you can find an original example of this knife is almost never there. 8.5cm blade, 11.5cm scales, thumb stud for one handed opening, the pictures show you exactly what you are getting. This would be a great addition to a collection or a great starter for budding collector.

So, it's up for trade. What am i looking for? Check it out:

LM Sideclip
LM Blast
LM Juice CS4
LM Rebar
LM ST300

Failing that, shout me what you got, whats the worst that could happen? ;) I'm UK based but prepared to post overseas. I'm new to the forum but have been on British Blades for nearly 10 years (Jedidiah), Bushcraft UK for the same amount of time (Jedadiah) and TZ-UK (Spencer Lee) so check me out if you have any trust issues. Hey, thanks for looking and enjoy the rest of your day!

If this is around in a few days I may have a look around to see what I have to offer you.  I really should let others have a crack at this first....

Thanks chaps, appreciate your input. This is a great piece and I can see why love these things. If anyone is considering a trade, drop me a line and let me know what you have. If you font have what is on my short list, no matter.

If it's NOT a PST II, original Wave, Kick, P4, PS4 or Core I may be interested. I don't really go a bundle on SAKs though.

I've got a cs4 if your interested, don't use it because I prefer the S2 when it comes to the juice line.

Hi Dave,

i'll certainly have a look at it, thanks for the offer. If you could send me some pictures and an idea of condition i'll consider it bud, thank you. Having said that i'm still open to offers from anyone else, really interested in Kick, Fuse and Blast models, Fuse and Blast in particular but feel free to throw something out!

I thought you said CS4 not C2? ;) No worries, it looks good. How do we work this, take it to PM?

I am looking forward to it, love me some benchmade. I love the fact that its old school and has some class to it. A lot gets lost with all the fancy machining and titanium they use these days.

Do you have one of these? I'm loving it so far,  very basic and simple.  Today it's all about high end steel and handle material.  This knife is very 90s and begs to be used hard.
