Hello to Everyone!
on: November 09, 2016, 02:43:56 AM
My first time to do anything like this so feel free to send me tips or correct me if I break protocol.
Really enjoyed this site and I am really glad we live in an age where we can discover groups with similar interest. Multitool fans...who would have thunk?
Just a bit about what started me on the tool addiction. Started when I was in high school and my brother gave me a Swiss Army cadet. I used it to death till the blade was more like an awl (blame this on my sharpening skills back then - but it was SHARP!!). Bought myself a SAK Champ which was handy as I lived from house to house changing door locks, fixing my ride, etc. Sorry for my wandering post but as you can see each tool I have has enough nostalgia to me as they have saved my bacon every so often.

Moved on to the Leathermans, forayed into other brands but have since come back. I have:

3 LM Waves (1 for each car and a Disaster kit) with bits and bit extender (punch and a Pocket Wrench 2 tucked in the sheaths).

A Gerber MP600 tool that I kid you not help me assemble our college lab back in the day. I keep it downstairs in my house for any jobs.

An old Supertool upstairs coz yeah, I'm too lazy to go downstairs

A Swiss Tool and a Doc Allen in my office bag, don't use it too often but REALLY handy for that one time you need it.

A Skeletool that LM company may have modded for me :like: The blade wasn't locking any more (originally gave this to my dad but he is getting to an age where it's kinda scary to leave it with him w/o cutting himself) and I told them I prefer a PE blade and they replaced it with an upgraded PE blade 154CM steel! These guys are awesome. My most treasured possession. This may be the only LM that the company has intentionally modded. I'll never sell it.

SAK Cadet, impulse buy 'nuff said.

BO LM Mini Tool as an EDC. Just bought it (Brand New!!) so haven't used it yet. It replaced my Squirt as I got in a situation when I needed a full size pliers.

My much battered Squirt P4. One of these days I'll need to clean it up and sharpen the wire cutters. They are getting hard to find but I was able to snag some brand new extras. Maybe folks here will be interested as I plan to sell off a few (my wife has been giving me the stink eye with my collection).

Well that's it! I've been drooling for a TTi Charge but I'm trying to keep the mania under control. Hope you enjoy the read.

Good to have you man.  I don't think you have to worry about our protocol here- we are a pretty easy going bunch.  In fact, the moderators here are some of the worst offenders in taking things off topic, so I don't think you have to worry about them being too harsh with anyone else.

Thanks man!

No problem- I try to be useful once in a while, but I don't suggest you get used to it.  :P

Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob

Welcome to MTO.  BO MINI  :ahhh awesome.

Maybe we should get a protocologist to check everyone, just to make sure we're all(awl?) fine...
