Thought I would post a new photo of my Multitasker collection drawer.

I should probably do a piece by piece collection photo thread sometime.

Blackbeard, yes it is.

The  Multitasker AR platform came out in 2009. Before I go any further, the AR stands for "ArmaLite Rifle", the original manufacture of this design for the US military. This means the fully automatic M 16 for the military and the civilian semi automatic AR 15. In North America, the AR 15 is a very popular rifle, especially in the United States. (I know you already knew that)

Because the AR tool is designed to maintain an AR rifle, most of the tools are designed for specific jobs such as a hex driver for LaRue mounts and Scope mounts, dual M4 castle nut spanner, carbon scrappers, pin punch, dental pick, M16A2 FSP adjuster, and an assortment of useful driver bits. The pin punch and/or the dental pick often screws out to reveal an 8-32 male thread which fits the OTIS cleaning system. This allows you to attach all sorts of rods, snakes, and brushes to the tool, making the Multitasker AR a great companion in the cleaning and maintenance of your firearm.

Back in 2012, there was a rumour that there would be a non weapon specific EDC version which didn't materialize. I do however have a prototype (third down) that could have been the foundations for an EDC version.

You owe it to yourself to at least see one in person. I have always felt that Multitasker makes a superb top quality product. Yes, they are made in China, however, they are very well made. Highlights include precision CNC machined pliers, brass bushings at all pivot points, G10 textured handles, and fit/finish ranked among the top of the Multi-tool manufacturers out there despite having that "generic Chinese multi-tool shape" for the AR plier based tools.

Model Progression:

1. Pocketsmith series 1 (Circa 2005), Pocketsmith series 2, Pocketsmith series 3 (resembles an AR series 1 - maybe released in 2010), Pocketsmith series 4 (resembles an AR series 2 - maybe released in 2010).
2. Multitasker AR series 1(Circa 2009), Multitasker AR series 2 (Circa 2010), Multitasker AR series 2.1 (Circa 2010/11) (Pliers pivot point now includes ball bearings), Multitasker AR series 3 (Circa 2013) (Pliers now have removable cutters).
3. Multitasker Ultralite (Circa 2010), Emerson EDC 1 (Circa 2013), Emerson EDC 2 (Circa 2013/14).
4. Multitasker Tube (Circa 2010), Multitasker Twist (Circa 2015).

If you are interested in multi-tools aimed at keeping firearms, or archery gear up and running, take a look at this 2015 thread for some more tools I have in my collection.
