SOSAK members?
on: December 22, 2016, 06:53:42 PM
It just occurred to me how many members of the old Secret Order we still have here?

Chime in if you have any idea what I am talking about.  If you don't, please disregard this thread....

I was vaguely aware of it, but not a member. I didn't "see the light" until that era was passed. I think I've done a fair job of catching up though  :P

Seems like the club is coming along, Ronald...

Actually I just wanted to see how many old friends I have here,  but now that I see so many of you I'd love to hear how you all found your way over here?  I didn't post many links at KF because I felt it was wrong to spam it.

One thing is certain. I didn't come from KF or BF or whatever. I guess I just followed my nose and found the right spot.

I was a member. I never contributed much. I joined after my grandpa died and I inherited his knives. The one that caught my eye was a camper. I had no idea what I was even looking at. I posted under the name patarak asking what knife it was. I believe it was you who responded. It was an advertisement SAK with a blade stamp written in German. I'm sure nobody remembers, but I was always thankful for the info on a knife that meant a lot to me. I've followed ever since. On and off maybe, but I always come back.

KF was where SOSAK began. I've never had much to do with BF over the years.

I'd be lying if I said I remember that.  I vaguely recall the story now that you tell it, but I could easily be confusing it with another story. We got a few inquires like that over the years.

Even so, I'm glad you got the answers you were looking for,  regardless of who gave it to you.  And I'm glad that you are still around.  It's always good to see guys that have been around for a while.

Maybe I'm just feeling nostalgic this time of year, but it is really good to see so many ofyou still around.

Old SOSAK member here. I am also a member of BF and several gun forums. I was off all the boards for awhile due to work and when I tried the SOSAK site, it was semi shutdown and referred me to this site and I joined. That was a few years ago now.   :climber:

Nice collection but you are missing a couple.  There was a Wenger New Ranger (which I believe was the last one) and the first one was a black scaled Huntsman with no date.  Oh and the Sapphire one.... Tinker maybe?  That was so long ago I can barely remember!

Did some more digging and came up with these. There's also a Wenger Ranger that's not readily coming to light.

I forgot the EvoWood!

The Wenger grip wasn't a Knife Of The Year,  it was just something we'd done with Wenger.
