Sadly very true, but there are still some knifemakers/companies up that way, but there still churning out very dated tool's, and just how far can ignorance/nostalgia take you :-\

What's worse is I bought a knife from a small Sheffield maker last year and was quite horrified by the lack of care in the finish  >:( :(

That's the problem, there churned out so quickly that the quality has really fallen by the wayside :(

Sheffield isn't a byword of quality anymore :(

They can keep their key mate. You ever seen the film "Threads", the one where Sheffield gets nuked? I swear it looked better afterwards.

I'm told there are nice areas to the city.  I just wasn't allowed into them :P

I spent three months there living out of a room in which the condensation ran down the walls and froze solid every night, bad days. Long time ago thank goodness.
