Excellent pics as always. I would say that the LEGO exhibit was awesome and thanks for sharing a few very awesome pics.

Cheers, It was probably some of the most tricky photography I have done in a while. We were not allowed any DSLR cameras so I had to use the little point and shoot. With the shiny sides on almost every side light just bounced off it.

Day 10

Nothing but hanging out. I got out the BO PST just to pose a bit.

Cheers,

Pete

Day 11

A busy day for me in the train sheds today. We had a lot of trains to move around, couple and uncouple. Maintenance staff were working around the clock to get through them all. The pics are the Signal on one of the older sets.

Cheers,

Pete

Day 12

I ordered some small pill containers for odd and ends. I managed to fit 6 small flat bits in, but it does not close. 5 fits better and it can close without the bits rattling. Now I need to decide which ones will be best to carry around with me.

Cheers,

Pete

Day 14

Yet another posing day. This challenge is way quieter than my previous one. I was far to productive then and left no tasks to do this month  ;) I have a few days off next week and one of them we will be going 4x4-ing. There are bound to be good pics then.

Cheers,

Pete

Day 16

In anticipation for our trip to the beach on Wednesday, and the weatherman has predicted a cool 38 degrees C, I got a gazebo to hide from some of the sun. The ties around the box was NO match for the blade, the serrations worked a treat.

Cheers,

Pete

Day 16

My real XMas present arrived today. I had to wait for it to be released world wide. It is not even in Oz yet. Thanks to the quick shipping and service from them Germans!!!

This model was built in conjunction with BMW to celebrate the release of the new R1200 GS Adventure. I am a big LEGO Technic fan and having a bigger model in the garage just HAD TO HAVE IT. Thank you Mrs VN!!!

I should have it built by the end of the weekend and will post a pic of big and small.

Cheers,

Pete

Day 18

And off to the beach we went. And typical of peoples NOT living at the coast we braved the wind and the sun for some time on the beach. We did however call lunch in the dunes off. At one point the outside temperature was 47 degrees. Even the A/C in the car struggled. It was the first time I took the Outback on the beach and the first time I drove an Auto off-road. Tires were set at 18 PSI due to the extreme conditions. The heat made the sand very soft and we had to keep our wits about not to get stuck. Happy to report that none of our cars got stuck. We did one dune climb, but that was so soft that we all baled out. It is not fun doing a recovery in such temperatures. Lunch was had in a nearby park and afterwards the kids got to go for a swim. All in all a fantastic day!!!

And the Signal, only watched the waves go by!!!

Cheers,

Pete

He He He, very hot indeed. We had at least 3L of water per person plus some soft drinks. But the water is what one needs in these temps. It is kinda silly being outside, people die VERY quickly in such extreme heat. We lost a biker over the weekend in the mountains due to the heat. Once his body started shutting down there was nothing the paramedics could do. To little to late. We had a total of 30L of water in my car alone.

It was still a good day. And the change in the afternoon was very welcome. It is not often that one can experience a start of 30C at 0700, rised to 47C around lunch time and back down to 25C by 19:00. This is a country of extremes, and I love it!!!

Pete

Nothing to do today. Posing with little brother KF4.

Tomorrow I am off and there are a few things to sort out. I suspect a busy day for the Signal.

Day 20

Well, I finally had some time off to build the LEGO set. Most of the tasks today was cutting the packages open. It took my son and me about 3 hours to complete the bike. I think it is a cool addition to my other models!!!

Cheers Poncho. I think I got them all so far. In the last challenge I mucked some days up. This one is easier with the date and day the same.

Day 21

Today was a busy day. Both kids wanted to go in the back of the motorbike so that took most of the morning. Whilst on our way back with our daughter, we passed the butcher. I stopped and got a fine piece of fillet. It is not a normal cut for the Ozzie market, only the butchers do them. Well I took a small 2kg one. We are after all four peoples in the family... ;)

It was very good, added some sweet spuds, spuds and jap-pumpkin for a hearty dinner!!!

Cheers

Day 23

One more week to go.

Today was posing, lunch duties and some show and tell. A good mate came down to town in the train with me and we got to chat about TSA stuff. He recently lost a pocket knife to our friendly Melbourne people. I guess I should help the man out... He was impressed with the Signal. So he should be!!!

Cheers,

Pete

Thanks, This month has been really quiet compared to the last challenge. I am going for another bike ride on Thursday with some mates in the State Forest. Maybe some tasks there...Definitely good pics if the weather holds.

These Challenges are addictive. I think it is a perfect way to "test" a tool in real life, unlike some of the reviews we see in the media based on a day or two's feel.

I think I will go for the MUT Challenge badge next, seeing that I will have two Signal badges!!! I will miss the Signal for daily duties. It has become one of my favourites.
