30 day Minimal Challenge
on: February 06, 2017, 04:27:35 PM
Hey people, today is the day I start my Minimal SAK challenge.  I only collect Cellidor knives right now but am considering getting into Alox... as long as that promotion at work goes through.

Honestly I pretty much do this everyday anyway so I figured I'd go ahead and go for the merit badge...  (Just in case I don't get that promotion).   The only difficulty I foresee restricting myself from carrying a Climber, which usually gets carried 3-4 times per week currently.

I'll start today with an old favourite, the Compact.

I invite any and all who wants to join me in this challenge.

Thanks everyone. The compact is already in my regular rotation so NBD, this will give me a chance to give some pocket time to some more neglected
Spartans, Tourists, Tinkers, etc.

I've been kicking the thought around, Corkscrew, and I accept your invite.  I've the SI, Spartan, and Tinker that need some carry time.  Here goes!!

Thanks y'all!

Today it shall be the Tinker Small. ('80-85 judging by round/split philips and no hole in reamer).  I must admit, I feel a little incomplete without el corkscrew in the pocket.

My son gave me my first Spartan awhile back, and I've only really carried it on Spartan Saturday.  This challenge has really made me realize just how great a knife it is.  I set out to use my SI as my primary knife for this, but I'm finding that I am having a hard time putting the Spartan down!  Those polished scales are gorgeous El C!!

Aren't they great? It's always a toughest decision for me to choose between this one and a red Compact.

I've had my eyes 👀 on Alox lately... Maybe a Pioneer...

Over the last couple days, I was thinking that anymore, my edc needs could be covered pretty well just using one of my Minichamps.

My daily tasks seem to be more and more mundane and I've found the Minichamp to actually be very capable of breaking down cardboard, etc. And I like the extra blade it brings over the Rambler. And those two blades will get just nasty sharp and slice like crazy.

I might have to give it a go for a month and see. :)
