Pretty sure this is their largest knife, but not positive. It is Japanese made.

Here is another that reminds me of Kampfer: pretty cool Titanium handles, upswept 3.9" CPM S90v blade.

I would also suggest a Endura in Damascus and Titanium.

Not USA though.

I always thought the coolest looking, most "tactical" and coldsteel-ish Spyderco was the Ulize.
Just look at the history behind its design, and its features.

A true sexy beast!! Probably the one I'd have next in my Spyderco collection, apart from the Civilian and Matriarch
So sad it is discontinued, like all the stuff I like!!

Lots suggestions, Thanks guys.
So far Mamba seen like the top contender but is out of my price range.

Question, do they even make knives that look like knives? Half of their knives look very similar and the other half looks weird. In my eyes of course.

I think you'd like the now discontinued Chinook, clip point, back lock, US made, even if it might be a bit on smallish. I suppose it would be hard to get two of them though. For details see https://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details.php?product=250.

They looked weird to me too, until I tried one, and got hooked. My first was an Endura. I now prefer the hole over studs, the bump in the blade actually makes for better ergonomics. Go to a shop and get a feel before you decide.

Hey Kampfer, I have a couple suggestions for you (all retailr under $300 ).

Manix 2 XL: https://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details.php?product=711
I have thr "normal sized" version of this knife, and it is very ergonomic, and is very "flat" in pocket. You may take issue with its wide footprint.

Vallotton Sub Hilt: https://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details/C149G/Vallotton-Sub-Hilt/668

Pattada G10: https://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details/C204G/Pattada-G-10-Black/983

Euro Edge: https://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details/c215G/Euro-Edge-/1018

And some folders that others mentioned, that I dont think you commented on, and I think deserve a second look:

Native 5 (a great "starter" Spyderco, since it looks much more like a normal knife than most of their line): https://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details/C41G5/Native-5-G-10-Black/663

Yojimbo 2 (i love mine): https://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details/C85G2/Yojimbo-2-G-10-Black/707

And if recurve blades arent out of the question:

P'kal: https://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details/C103G/P-Kal/267

Matriarch 2 Emerson opener: https://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details/C12BK2W/Matriarch-2-Lightweight-Emerson-Opener/809

I almost bought a Native a couple years back solely because the deal was so good...But I didn't pull the trigger.

My Mini-Onslaught, a fine knife except it is ruined by the giant hole on the blade..

It was my 2nd folder, the sales guy told me it is kinda like a Benchamde / Spyderco hybrid...best of both.
The more I look at it the more I hate it, a fine knife with a hole. It stayed in the box as soon as my 3rd folder arrived.

But isn't spydercos hole their claim to fame? Are you looking for a model without the hole? Or just something new and it'll grab you when you see it  ;)

Disclaimer: Kam, I am fully aware this does not meet your criteria (It's made in Japan).

Now that that is out of the way, I'm curious as to what you think of the Large Lum folder (other than its place of manufacture)? It has a Chinese heritage (which you seem very proud of), and is a very large, but still graceful knife IMO. It was the first Spyderco i though of for you, but again, the Japanese origin obviously makes this one out of the question.

If you do not like holes in the blade for the most part why get a Spydie Kam? More of a mental exercise and bit of fun?

On point though I have to say the Delica is something that you have to hold and use to understand. I avoided getting one for a good while because of its smaller size. This thing though fits my hand like a glove and begs precision cuts. Plus the blade is thinner resulting in a knife that is a cutting machine.

Spyderco just released a Delica with a wharnie blade if that is something you might like. I would go with a HAP 40 version though. Lost mine which makes me a sad panda so if anybody is selling one hit me up.

As for the hole. Will not but another non traditional folder without one. Love the bump it makes on the back of the blade. Hard to explain but when I choke up on the blade it sits in my hand nicely. Plus not having a thumb stud to poke me and catch on stuff is priceless.

Crap isn't the Delica a Japan Spydie?

Sigh.

The Delica really is fantastic knife.  But it is made in Japan.

I didnt understand the Spyderco hype either. Thought they where ugly and didnt get the hole.
Then I got some Byrds, then an Ambitious, then a Dragonfly and a Salt, then a Delica and a Native and...so it goes.
Now i prefer a hole over a stud.

The PM2 has been suggested before but I have never tried one. But that is a universally praised and loved knife, as far as I know.
I also saw Grant praise the Police in another thread.

Spyderco makes some weird smurf don't they.

Laci Szabo is one of my least favorite designers.  I don't mean to say any5hing bad about the man, but his designs seem too "over the top ninja-ish" to me.  I've heard he has the fighting cred to back it up, but I don't so I guess it's my shortcomings that keep me from appreciating them.

They strike me as the realizations of the knives I used to draw on my school books when I was a kid, inspired by various Dungeons & Dragons stories and very little actual use.

They'd look great if they were carried by the Uruk Hai around New Zealand, but not so much in everyday life.  Plus, if a police officer saw you whip one of those out in the mall to open a Cinnabon he'd be justified in opening fire and asking questions later.
