Looking for choices for SAK sheaths
on: February 15, 2017, 10:54:56 AM
I am not particularly liking always carrying my SI in my pocket. I have a sheath but I'm not that fond of it.

What sheaths are some of you using for your SI or Pioneer sized SAKs?

My preference is leather...

I edc my Pioneer (sized) SAKs not in a sheath.
They tumbling around in my front pocket  :ahhh
On my Pioneer X I use a suspension clip. This
is really a good way too carry 2-layer SAKs

Victorinox used to sell horizontal leather belt pouches, don't know if they are still available.
I don't claim to know it all, but what I do know is right.

I am partial to the Victorinox 2-4 Layer Leather Belt Pouch for 3.6" Swiss Army Knives #33260.

I have several Vic leather pouches. They all suffer the same problem: they are made for a range of knives rather than a single one. There are pouches for 2-4 layer SAKs, 5-8 layer SAKs etc., both 91 and 111 mm. The largest SAK will fit well, the others will rattle. They are well made, however, as are the "new" green nylon pouches for 111 mm SAKs.

You should probably try and make one or have one made.

I have my Victirinox Delmont Collection Rangergrip in the Vic.  Pro Hunter Pocket Knife Sheath

I prefer the last generation of Wenger sheaths for 130 mm SAKs.

Attach to the belt with Velcro straps so much easier to deal with an actual belt that is also going through belt loops on my pants.

Room for bits, since many 130's have the bit driver (and rumor has it the rest have it hidden under the scales).
