Curious to hear how many traditional knives are in you collection and what the most expensive/elusive piece that you just had to have was/cost.  :salute:

I just started last year and I currently have eleven traditionals. So far I haven't paid over $50 for one and my most expensive was my Camillus Easy open jack

The cheapest was my Imperial TL-29 for under $10

So your averaging about 1 per month  :D

They are very enjoyable aren't they. You seem to have a good pricing limit too. Your knife selection is always nice.  :tu:

Have an assortment of traditional patterns. Particularly fond of Stockmen, Copperheads and Mini Trappers.

I try not to count stuff like that  I have several and have many different patterns  but the Congress is my favorite probably  Also Hen and Rooster is my favorite brand :like: I have about $100 limit on an individual knife but really rather spend way less :D It has to be a special occasion if I go with the top end of my limit :tu: Plus I have several sentimental trads that have been passed down to me :tu:

Personally my quantity is rather low but that hasn't stopped me from spending a pretty penny, I've gotten a bit swept up in the traditional revolution , I'm not pointing any fingers here :pok: . But more of a thanks for opening my eyes and ears, I wouldn't have known what I was missing!

I plan to enjoy these knives and pass them down to my son later down the road. Another reason for my investment in the quality of knives I've looked at to date.

The most I've spent is, is my wife looking  :dwts: , $2 :o :o! Honestly, more than my multitools or tactical edc folder knife even. But I have no regrets on the purchase whatsoever.

I need to post a pic of it soon in the Trad thread  :D :tu:

I have about thirty traditionals or so. My most expensive are a large, candy cane red, GEC trapper that ran me about one forty. A large Case stockman in stag that was ninety or so. And the 2014 BF traditional forum knife, a single bladed clip, about three inches in length, with stag slabs that ran about one hundred.

It's no secret that I don't particularly like knives.
However 20yrs ago it dawned on me one day that I didn't own a genuine Sheffield made pocket knife, Pretty astounding when one considers Sheffield once dominated the world Cutlery Trade.
And so began my quest...
Do you have any idea how hard it is to find original vintage Sheffield made pockets knives from that era? I'm not talking about the modern crap that likes to cash in on the city's past..I'll tell you, its next to impossible.
So, having spent months searching (remember the internet wasn't like it is today) I eventually found Stan Shaw, Sheffield's last Little Mester and now Master Cutler. The waiting list back then was just 1 year, the 2nd one I purchased was slightly longer and the final few took over 3yr's waiting!

Besides those, I have a couple of Case knives, Balisong, Switch Blades.

None of them see the light of day, they are all stored under lock and key. Here in the UK I read that if caught in possession of an assisted blade in public it is a mandatory custodial sentence, hence why they are locked away
I don't claim to know it all, but what I do know is right.

As promised

Forgive the quality - I'm struggling for time these days :

Fisherman
Every implement is hand cut including the file! Corkscrew is hand made too. In fact even the rivets are hand made.

This knife cost more than the other 3 combined!

Almost all of Stan Shaws knives feature workback, I decided to go for a simple pruner, Buck the trend so to speak!

All the books are signed ( one for each knife) the original receipt is inside each book.
I'll just add these few to show the Folding Hunting Knife

Great collections y'all!

That fisherman is exquisitely unique, who is the manufacturer on that knife? Is that a Sheffield? I'd love to know more about it, and your history with it.

Really really cool  :tu: 8) :salute:

Thanks for all the comments.
Fact is these are Stans budget line! I couldn't afford his high end stuff. I did however order a 6 Blade Sowbelly with Workback and Mother of Pearl scales and a custom sailors knife with various beefy blades...but that was 5-6yrs ago. He never contacted me and I suspect he's in his 90's now. Still working tho', but part time, typically the days when I do work.
I'll see if I can upload pictures of his good stuff (not mine I hasten to add)...get your napkins ready, you're gonna be slavering like bloodhounds - lol

The Copperhead is one of my favorites among traditional pattern pocket knives. Like the way it balances in the hand. Basically the Copperhead is a scaled-down Folding Hunter.

Very nice Colo  :salute:

With regards to my above post, I can't find the online pictures, spent over an hour last night searching for them. They were originally posted on another forum and would come up easily in a search (but that was several years ago ) ) not so now?

They were magnificent custom specials with 6,7,8+ layers and featured elaborate and extensive workback technique. Absolutely stunning examples   :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh
But what I did find (and didn't even know I had!) were books on the Sheffield cutlery history. Stan's work features in all these books. I'll scan a few pictures and upload shortly.
