My first mod.

This morning I was lucky enough to receive a new plier head for my PST courtesy of our good friend Kwakster (many thanks buddy). The head needed replacing as I had stupidly cut things that I shouldn't of done a couple of years ago and had damaged the cutters

. Robert was very kind though and offered to help me out with my problem and sent me out the new head which arrived just a few days later.

Anyway, as soon as it arrived I set to work taking the PST apart using my Vic Mechanic and a Kick pocket clip which worked very well;

When I got it apart I started thinking about a pocket clip mod that I had seen done by someone else on the boards (I believe it as Prime?) and started to look how I could put a clip on there. I decided that the Kick clip would go on pretty well if it was sandwiched between the lanyard ring and the handles. I gave this a go and at first it didn't work too well as the lip on the clip caused it to rotate off. So I grabbed my LM Charge and quickly removed the lip with the diamond file and rounded it off nicely. Once I put it all together again the clip sat nice and flat and works really well.

So far I am pretty pleased with it.

Not only do I have a newer styled plier head on my PST, but I also have a decent pocket clip which so far has not budged. At some point (now I know it all fits) I will take it apart again and use some thread lock on it.

Very nice job. Great feeling isn't it? Not only that you made it yourself (and that's the best bit) but also that you have something that very few, if any, others have. Congratulations.

That looks great. It's too bad these companies won't get off their ass and start offering pocket clips on more tools.

Yes, making something truly your own is a good feeling.

What is doubly nice is the fact that this was my first MT.

All three ways I need to buy some kick clips though, silly me.

I don't wanna pay that crazy shipping for these pieces of metal! Anyone have 2 spare clips I can buy?!

TBH, what puts me off is the idea of taking one apart and then being unable to put it back together and me ruining a perfectly good SAK

I wasn't talking about that

, I was just saying why I didn't like the thought of me modifying SAK's.

I'm up for giving it a go though if you have some parts lying around that you have no use for.
