Nice slim urban package there, with a lot of functionality.  I find that I very rarely need scissors bigger than those on the mini Vics.

That Leatherman slip is really nice!  Where can a guy find one of those?

Yeah, I agree.  If I need bigger scissors, a blade would probably suffice.  Not that I don't enjoy having my options ;)

FWIW, that combo works well in slacks :tu:

Missed the second part there.

That's the slip sheath that came with a Sidekick a while back.  Not sure if they still sell them that way.  I think I saw some on ebay not too long ago.

Yeah, I slipped that second part in afterwards...  ;)  Thanks for the info, I will have a look!  For me the PST is too conveniently small to mess with a belt pouch.  But, when I do carry it in the front pocket it would be nice to have something like that to keep it from sliding around.

Yep, being suede leather, it's really good at that.  I mentioned slacks...stuff falls out of my pockets all the time.  Plus, it covers any sharp edges/corners.

Saw someone selling some on ebay for $5 something.  I can't vouch for the seller or anything (doesn't look like it has the grommet), but might be worth a shot.  Search for "leatherman sidekick sleeve"

LOL.  Yeah, I already found it and bought one before I saw your post.  Thanks again!

I use slips for my traditional slipjoint knives for the same reason--that and it helps prevent rust on the carbon blades.

That's awesome!  Let me know how it works out.  :tu:

Any suggestions for a slip for a slipjoint?  I've got a Case Texas Jack I'm afraid to carry much as my wife had it engraved for me.

Nice Vic carry Paul.  Honestly, when I carry a Spirit, it is so packed with tools that I almost feel like I don't need to carry anything else.

Almost...  ;)

Ive been resisting getting a Spirit for a while now, but I think It may be my next purchase. It would be a great companion to  my folders.

Yeah, just a simple "tactical" folder would be a great pair with a Spirit.  I think that's actually why I like carrying Leathermans instead.  Carrying just one tool that has everything with the convenience of outside opening?!  What's the fun in that?

Well, that and I prefer the narrower jaws of Leatherman pliers.

I have yet to find my favorite combo  ???

I HATE redundancy, so everything I have tried so far just feels "off" somehow

These are my edc tool wants.
1) pocket carry ultralight non-threatening pen knife (currently an alox bantam)
2) bag carry Toolchest with awl, marlin spike, wood saw, metal saw, file, pliers (currently a SOG powerlock EOD with custom loadout)
3) bag carry nail/beard grooming stuff (currently a swisscard classic and a cut-down hair brush)
4) bag carry bit ratchet (currently a topeak bit ratchet)

The Sog is nice enough, but is heavy and MT combo pliers are not nearly as useful as a dedicated plier like a knipex plier wrench in my experience. (would love to give a skeletool modded with a surge blade holder a go tho)

I vould love to try the following:

1) 84mm red alox voyageur (but lets be honest cap lifter > combo tool)
2) bag carry modded swisschamp or alox pioneer with just woodsaw, file, pliers awl, some kind of marlin spike and maybe a layer with small blade and mag glas
3) beard brush
4) Topeak bit ratchet set, as above, but with added knipex goodness.

Dare to dream  :climber:

That would definitely cover it.  The one thing I don't mind having is redundancy in blades.  I like to have an extra sharp blade or two in case my carry dulls and I don't have the time or patience to sharpen it immediately.  My carry is somewhat similar to yours, but I only keep the redundancy out of what I carry on my person.  I have redundancy in what I carry in my bag.  I prefer the little Victorinox bit driver kit over the Topeak.  I don't really need a ratcheting mechanism.
