Thanks y'all, it is my baby. It's been used for everything from fire prep to food prep to game cleaning. Such a great design, and the scandi grind makes it a cinch to bring that sucker back to razor sharp. Heck, I love it so much that when BHK split up I went online and bought 4 more of each size so I would never run out!

Got the Boker Magnum Elk Hunter Skinner yesterday.  Heres a pic. Ill post some more about it after it has seen some more use.

I got one yesterday, as well  :tu:

I really like the size, it was smaller than I expected, but that's a good thing :)

I happened to find myself looking at this Boker again and was wondering how you two were getting along with them? :)

Honestly, it hasn't seen any more use than cutting up some sausage, yet... But that it did quite well. Just, I don't really get to carry it in my urban environment.

Fair enough.  I've got the same problem, basically no reason to carry/use a sheath knife in my day-to-day life either. :-\  Would you call it well put together though?

Maybe if I could convince my wife it's a new kitchen knife?

Anyone have thoughts about the kukri? I don't need one as I don't do much bushwhacking any more, just cool to own one. Brands, length etc....

I do not have any but from other forums Himalian Imports has a good, US, reputation and Cold Steel seems to produce some good, lower cost, ones.

Zed has a few kukkri's I think

I'm a huge Kukri fan, and of all the Kuks I've used the Cold Steel Ghurka Kukri  in good ole Carbon V is my favourite. As for traditional ones all Torablades kuks are amazing as there as close to the original as you can get and are perfectly usable :)

As for types, steer clear of kuks more than 8mm thick as there just too heavy to control properly. Most Ang Kholas are bombproof and will last several life times with care.

For looks speed and accuracy, go for a Sirupati as there bloody gorgeous! :)

This is my Survive GSO 4.1.
I am liking the 3V steel but I don't think I would ever want to use this hard of a steel exclusively.
Carbon and inox are so much easier to maintain IMO.

I like the look of that willc. :tu:  Kinda makes me think of a scaled down version of the British MOD knife, though no doubt it's better finished. :)

Great collection  :tu:

Can you tell us more about 'Sese' please Dmanuel?

He is a local bladesmith that makes his blades from leaf springs and ball bearing steel. He trained with JEST here in Philippines which is a Joint Military Camp between the US and Philippine military, their instructors are mainly the best "bushmen" from one of the local tribes called Aeta that have been living in the jungle for a few years now ;)

He specializes in traditional shaped blades but he is always open to new designs and always has a ton of different designs on hand. Being a bushcrafter at heart means he really knows what others are looking for, and if you don't he is more than happy to walk you through different blade geometries until you find the one that will work best for your needs. Great guy to work with, and often includes a blade or two for free when you purchase from him.

You can contact Dr. Arvin Sese directly to see about purchasing one. I know he ships worldwide.

Sorry about the slow reply. Its a very well built knife. i have been using mine a lot in the garden lately. Whenever I go out to do some yard work like trimming the apple trees, cutting down unwanted bushes and saplings and such, it comes with me. I must admit that it has been abused quite a lot, but it has taken it well. Im very happy with it.
