I know it's a workhorse, but I like to think of the BK-2 as a fun knife. Everyone should just hold one to see what it feels like to have that wedge of a piece of steel in the hand. Little heavier than I want to carry, but I can recognize its awesomeness for the price :nanadance:

I have no idea of the temper...it was an extremely hot fire...it bent a 16" Winchester 30-30 barrel and melted silver coins so 1700F+. The big metal roof came down on everything and 50mph winds stoked it like a furnace for 5-6 hours. I picked up 108mm Vic blades and bent them in half like a paperclip.

There is a place here in Texas that will re-temper it but I haven't decided on it yet. The brass guard didn't melt so that's something anyway...it is straight, no deformation.

Tramontina Gaucho

I have several of these in different styles. Bought them back when they were 12-15 bucks ea. on the bay....some have a cowboy etch, some the sharpener and I'm sure my grandson will think they are the bomb.

A good quality knife that gets razor sharp and disassembles easy for thorough cleaning.  :tu:

added: I have the others put up but when I find get them out, I'll shoot them.  ::)

Its a Helle Temagami. I was surprised to discover that it was designed by Les Stroud.
