Thank you!!! Yes David, could be 50's to 90's. I have emails out to Mora and others trying to track down models and dates. The Frosts are laminated carbon with cores @ 60-61 HRC and the Eriksson is Sandivik 12C27m Stainless @ 58 HRC

Better pics here.

Thanks for the info SG.   :tu:   That is another thing I've been wondering about is the lack of laminated blades you use to see years ago.     :)

Smaller/aging consumer base, more difficult to obtain/rising cost.....Mora discontinued most of it's Orig Classic laminated line last year keeping only the #1 size.  Their straight carbon is so good maybe it was harder to justify the laminate blades anymore. I try to buy them whenever they come up used at a decent price. The older/Laminate line also had had full length tangs. Newer (red handle) Classics are 3/4 tang but still very tough knives.

I posted this before...

An unused Boker 155 Bird & Trout knife with an unusual stamp/etch.

I had posted this different places on the web asking about it but no one could explain that etch on the blade or date the knife. Even the current President of Boker USA was asked through customer service and he said that to his knowledge,  Bokers were never marked that way (he's been there 30+ years). I was ready to give up and chalk it up to a home produced employee knife.... :(

Then I finally got a definitive answer...

"The knife and sheath are the Stagbrand pattern made by the George Schrade Knife Co. Bridgeport Ct.
Boker bought the company in 1956 and liquidated in 1958 after the Federal Switchblade Act. Your knife was made between those dates."

Just got in a couple of (in my experience) rare ones.

The J Russell Buffalo Skinner is a 70's model with a carbon blade and ebony handles. It's usually only seen in it's Bicentennial version with inlaid medallion. This one is plain ebony and with sheath.

The second knife is a 70's Russell Hunter. It has an ebony handle and surprisingly, a stainless blade! This was an enigma because a rep at Dexter-Russell told me all the stainless blades were on the early/mid 80's reissue knives. Perhaps a transitional model.....the diamond blade stamp is different from both the 70's and 80's knives.

Thanks Sparky, didn't know either of those models even existed......pretty happy with them.

Besides the 76 issue, the 80's SS Buffalo Skinner with walnut handles was all I had seen.....
