Nice blades. Love the Bushcraft Black. It is one of my favorite fixed blades followed by the Mora 2000 that Goute gifted to me. Great blades.

I might be busy singing the praises of the AHTI, but the Bushcraft Black is still my go-to everything knife.

Blade has been re-blued, only looks nice because I wiped it down prior to the photos - it works more and more often than all my other knives combined......except for my No 8 Opinel that is......
I know it's a bit silly, but I start every fire with it, even light the LPG burner with it....
Did some cutting tests with the same material as the AHTI, almost as good at cutting and better ergonomics.

Not silly at all. I start most of my fires with the help of my Bushcraft Black. I damn near go through a fire rod in a year. I light my pellet stove, torches, fires, wood stove in the shop, and on and on.

I have a Buck 120 "General" coming which I can't wait to post some pics of. I've admired this model for years and was finally gifted one.

Wore out the original ferro rod in about 6 months, the Coughlans I glued into the original handle is slightly less effective but will last much longer.
I hope  :D

It will. I use them all the time. I have been thinking about get a couple of the big one online. The 1/2 inch thick and 6 inches long.
The Light My Fire ferro rods are great, but they are soft and I go through them fast. I like the harder ones better. Last longer and you can scrap a nice little pile of dust off of it and light candles or start fires easier. At least for me anyways.

My first ferro rod was the big Light-my-Fire....still the best I've had.

The small one is useless IMHO.

I have about 4 Coughlans drifting around  8)

......I would kill for a big one!

Sure did. I used my Kershaw 1242GE to carve a couple turkeys this evening, one of my favorite filet knives. Makes quick work out of halibut and salmon, worked out great on the gobblers as well :tu:.
