My latest one is a Mora just right. Basic companion with a hole drilled for a lanyard and spine ground to 90 degrees to work with firesteel.

It's incredible how cheap and useful some knife discoveries are.

I got this knife last month for $3 and it's replacing my CRKT Minimalist as the small fixed blade of my EDC.
Inexpensive, lightweight, a true slicer and still kinda of "Wharncliffe" style blade like my Minmalist has.

Not as thick, longer, but same thickness and I made a simple sheath for it.

Cuts like the dickens and rides in the pocket unnoticed, flat and comfortable.

Love it, easy to clean and use.

One of my favorite summer blades in the FB family.

Been totin' it around the last two years.

Steel is H1, excellent for beach/river/sweaty activities I like to do this time of the year

A breeze to sharpen. Bends instead of chipping, so this thin blade is a mean slicer, but by no means a fragile blade.

Excellent grind and thickness for food prep or fruit cutting in summer hikes, wilderness dinners and camping

Sheath is worth mentioning: multiple angles, positions and rotatory attachment, lashing points and sturdy plastic with nice retention

Made by G.Sakai (makers of Spyderco's Salt Series in Japan), quality, smooth lines, nice shape, fit and finish and great performance.

Handle can be slippy, though, and sheath requires careful unsheathing/resheathing so as to avoid dulling the blade with the plastic

But, all in all, I recommend it as a general outdoors-cooking-rustproof blade

One of my first mods, of course with wood from at home.
The base was an NRA- Snody-design- should have been my New-Zealand outdoor-knife, but I left it at home in the last moment,
because I wasn't so sure what customs would say...
Now it is my in-the-car-knife and sits under the steering wheel.

This is my Buck 124 Frontiersman and represents one of the best deals for a large knife in the Buck lineup.

I've been searching for something different and interesting in this 124 model, such as unique handle material. The ones that I've located are always bid to unacceptable prices,at least for me.

In between searches I decided to improve the one that I do own.I looked it over and decided that the spine of the blade could use a good mirror polish and then it would match the tang which is sandwiched between the handles.

If that giant blade is only half as well done as my trusty peasant, then this would be my knife for the zombie apocalypse (no harm meant, Zoidombie)
