Can I ever!  This thing just oozes quality!  I was a little worried about cutting myself closing it where it's sooooo smooth, but it only goes so far, and rest against your thumb!  :tu:  LOVE IT!!!

I do the same with the ones with a back lock. I hold it almost like I would for use, but depress the lock and fling it forward. It looks like its going to close on my pointer finger, but always gets stopped by that curved section under the blade. Be careful though as i'm not sure if you remember, but I got bit pretty bad from my Pacific Salt. Still have a huge scar and finally got feeling back in my finger after a year or so.  :ahhh Ill try and dig up a picture to warn you.  :D

Is that some kind of "texture" I can see on the blade?

Yes. I think its there instead of a nail nick so you can open it two handed with gloves on.

Well, I can't lurk through so much of this thread, without posting a pic myself, even though my "collection" is gonna look like a drop in the sea, compared to some of those I've seen here...

The small one, is being carried everyday, together with the ID-card it's hooked to - it's inconspicious, easy access, with a little training it can be opened one-handed and it's a helluva lot better at opening boxes and plastic packing than cheap utility blades.

The "big one" (blade is only 7 cm/2,7 inches) always follows me to work in my backpack, but only get time in my pocket when I know I'm going to need a reliable blade, that can take a beating and won't close on me.
And don't even begin to ask what makes they are; can't even remember where I got the small one and the "big one" is from a sporting-store, bought for about 175 dkk/32 usd. Nonetheless, the only thing about the knife that ever failed me, is the rubber pads on the side, that needs to be glued back in, from time to time.

EDIT: Sized the picture down, so it's actually viewable. :)

Did some searching and found the "big one" on Linders website. Apparently, they just refer to it as "Lock back knife" - makes it really easy to find, among 128 different knives... But it seems like it's a kraton handle, which I have no idea what means, so I gotta read up on that.

Are those pipe tools marked "Richards" or "Rodgers", guys?  Rodgers I see all the time, and have owned several.  Never seen a Richards.   My current pipe knife/tool is a Kershaw.  :)  Go figure.......

I guess I like it too - it's the only knife I've ever taken so much care of. But seeing all those Spyderco's in here and knowing that it'd be illegal for me to purchase one... I think the feeling is like being offered a free Lamborghini, but having lost your license for DUI. :P

How do you  like the Ganzo?  It is one of those knives that I would have gotten, had it been cheaper.  Is it as good as the Buck  (US or Chinese made ones?)

Well,it's going into today's pocket dump for testing.

In terms of fit and finish, its spot on the money. Scales are slightly nicer than the 373,though the back springs arn't as tight. I ordered this via Amazon,so for £14 delivered from China? Yeah,it's a winner. Basically a Buck for Rough Rider money.

Oh...before anyone jumps on this, the Ganzo us very similar to the 373,but it is NOT an exact clone :tu:

Hey, if they work for you then no-one here is going to knock them.  Do they get sharp enough?  Are they convenient and comfortable to use?  Do they do everything you ask of them?  If yes, then they are perfect knives.  :tu:

Of course if the answer is no to any of those questions then you might want to hold on to your wallet.  :D

Most stockmans seem similar anyway. It looks like the main blade shapes differ.
