Let's get back to some pics here...

This is my LM Hybrid literally doing what most of my tools figuratively do to my credit card!

Showing the wear and tear on black oxide after about 8 months of medium use.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v12/spoonman/charge015.jpg

Also, there were (and may still be) a lot of grumblings about the eyeglass screwdriver on the new Leathermans when they were first released. I had no problem with them and after using the one on the Blast to fix a camera while on an exploration site 3 hours from home I became quite a proponent. Here's the celebratory picture of the two items used to fix my camera on-site.

My BO Wave has held up really well under medium use for the last 4 or 5  months. I remember reading on another forum (I can't remember witch one) that the LM BO coating doesn't stick well to titanium. That may be the case with your Charge.

J-sews,

Nice photo! The Harley-Davidson variant of the Pocket Power Plier is listed on the United Cutlery website.  http://www.unitedcutlery.com/shop/site/vendors.cfm?id=D04D04B5-AA5E-4D36-BF365DCCEAF2EB49

Do you happen to know if United Cutlery is manufacturing the tool or is it actually manufactured by SOG?  I'm also wondering the same thing about the Stanley variant.  Are there any notable differences other than the trademarks?

Thanks in advance!

United Cutkery doesn't manufacture knives or tools as far as I know.  They import them from China and other places that don't have good reputations for quality.

The Harley Davidson and Stanley versions (also a Master Mechanic brand, not pictured) are all "Made in USA." I'm almost certain they are all made in SOG's factory. All of the drivers and blades are identical to SOG components, although the mix of components vary. The needlenose plier jaws are the same too, except for the different logo on the castings.

For some reason though, SOG uses button head allen screws on those other brand tools.

The Harley tools also have a much brighter mirror finish than the regular SOG versions have. Fancy leather sheath too.

Yipes! I just followed your link and saw how much these things are going for! (I didn't pay NEARLY that much.) Guess I'd better transfer it to my safety deposit box at the bank!

Nope, that one was the Harley Davidson. Somehow the my Master Mechanic one didn't make it into the photo.

Here's a picture of both of them:

Parnass, that's kinda odd. My Master Mechanic S44 has the logo stamped into the handles, but your S60 looks like it just has the logo marked on the surface?

That is correct.  The Master Mechanic name is not etched into the handles, merely on the surface.  Perhaps it was applied using a laser.

Definately..a shaped blade like that "pulls" the material your cutting into it, and the steel itself feels a lot thicker and tougher than the regular straight blades.  It's not really for detail work, but for slicing through shrinkwrap or plastic packages it's great.

It does indeed look like an old Officer's knife, although the actual year is almost impossible to pin down.

If you could give some better pics of it, I might be able to give you some more information.

I was in NY briefly and I bought the PT-540 and some other "necessities" at Datavis with a $20 off $200 in store coupon.  I think the coupon may have been in the NY Times.

Thanks!  My camera is just a cheapo.  I'd like to buy a good camera (like the one Dunc uses) but right now a new truck is at the top of my list of things to buy.

Judging by the clarity of those two photos, you shouldn't be in any hurry to replace that camera!

How about giving us some more angles on the PT-540?
