Nice review boss. Doesn't the standard version of the freestyle come with a 420-ish steel or have they upgraded that to 440-something? Also, there is a slight notch at the non-knife handle which is there (I presume) for your thumb to rest against when grabbing the knife (although it would need some jimping for greater purchase).

As far as I know, they are the same blades used on the Skeletools, so I'd say 440.

Great review Def :tu: thanks for the link :)

Just wish they had kept the bit driver even thought they got rid of the carabiner and used 1 double ended bit with a phillips and straight on each end :(

The freestyle looks pretty decent actually. I don't really like the skeletool, but I might have to look at this one. It would be the perfect companion for a vic ranger since the only overlapping feature would be the knife blades and they are different enough to fill specific roles. A freestyle/ranger combo would never replace my core for regular work(I'd break both pretty quick), but for times when I can't have a holstered multitool, that combo would work great.

Anyone know the expected release date of the Freestyle? What about cost? Im still interested in a group buy so let me know. Like I said earlier though as long as it doesnt cost more than the Skeletool.

The expected release date is late May.  I haven't heard an update so I'm guessing that's still the time line.

They will sell for around $40 and $60.  I'm hesitant to setup a group buy since it sometimes turns into an extended waiting game on new tools from LM and it makes us look bad when dates keep getting pushed back.  We have them on order so we should be seeing them when the first batch is shipped.
