Core for $30, good deal?
« on: January 25, 2009, 07:53:16 PM »
Local walmart has them on clearance for $30, is it a good deal? It's literally impossible to find anybody to open the damn showcase there so I don't want to spend 30 minutes hunt down the guy with key unless it's worth it.

Sounds like a great deal to me! Assuming that you will like the Core at least somewhat, of course...  ;)

I am sure you'd have no problem selling it for more if you don't like it - especially since it is discontinued.

Yeah check your local walmart, mine has been discount various leatherman (that they stopped carry) for a while now, picked up two micra for $15 each a while ago. Looks like I'm going back to hunt for the guy with keys again.

If somebody is going to Walmart and they got some Core’s left, can you pleas pic one up for me??

For something that heavy shipping to Norway alone would be $20, probably not worth it in the end.  :(

$50 inc shipping to the UK, would be about one third of the RRP here (which everyone has to charge).

I'd consider $30CDN a good deal on the Core, and it's not even one of my favorite tools!  I may brave my local Wal Mart to check that out myself, despite loathing that place with every fiber of my being.

Was just there (local walmart) last week and they were all out of stock on the Core.  The gal at the counter told me they were she thought going to be going with a different line-up of tools there.  So maybe in a month or so we might find some of the more modern offerings of leatherman's at the store.

Local walmart here have already changed their picture catalogue for the knife counter, they even dropped the wave. I think the only two leathermans left are surge and kick.

Picked it up today, it's their last one. Funny thing thou, they have fuse, blast, and core all for the same price.  ???

It's big and heavy, so far the only problem I have with it is there are three flat head screwdrivers.  :(

Oh it also came with those boxy black sheath, can't tell if it's leather or pleather for sure, but I'm leaning toward pleather.
