max I believe that Dave was just soaking the gunk off the tools in that pick and the rust was dissolving making it look worse than it really was at least I think

By the picture it appears you just use a couple of the pocket clips to disassemble......is that what you use? I would love to get a set of the dedicated tools for them to do more but it looks as if you are using the basics and coming out with perfection.   

A pair of Kick pocket clips makes a fine set of wrenches for Leatherman repair work
