I still want a more fancy pen.
Any ideas..?

After a lot of looking at what I want and need, I've decided on a Lamy Pico.  They aren't the cheapest though so I am having to wait until I have the cash.

This is my new edc set.
The pen is a retractable pencil i modded to be as small as possible. It takes 10 standard 0,7mm mines and writes on everything, even when wet.
The Zebralight H501 is equipped with a Petzl-Zipka-style retractable headband which still easily fits into my pocket.

First up is an exterior picture of my Bill's Custom Urban Wallet, showing how items are packed.

The contents, minus the removable credit card divider that holds my driver's license, medical insurance card, student ID, car insurance card, and co-pay card, plus cash; displayed items include a home-made writing pad, made from a single sheet of printer paper; a bandanna; a USB flash drive, that is sometimes rotated out with others; a Bic Mini lighter; a Zebra F-301 pen, which, personally, is a wonderful, inexpensive pen; and a mini widgy bar from County Comm.  The side zippered pocket also sometimes holds other items, depending on my needs.

Next up is my lovely onyx-scaled Explorer Plus.  Frankly, I must say I enjoy it more than the BSA Yeoman that I procured a couple days ago.  Yes, the Yeoman is smaller, but I prefer the dedicated can opener on the Explorer Plus.

This is followed up with other daily-carried items, namely, my key ring, typically carried with the amber carabiner, which also holds a Victorinox Manager - hopefully a Rambler soon - and a Fenix E01.  This is also shown with my current mobile, a Samsung Hue II, which is currently holding a 2GB MiniSD card.

Pictured below are items that are carried often, but not on a daily basis; I only carry my car keys when needed, although they're almost always in my bag, nearby.  These are shown under my Leatherman Kick, which I still need to add a pocket clip to.

Just because I wanted to, I'll also include this picture, which shows my current preferred pens and mechanical pencils.  Shown from left to right:  two Zebra F-301 Compact pens; one Zebra F-301 pen; a Papermate Sharpwriter #2, a model of mechanical pencil I've used since secondary school; two Zebra M-301 mechanical pencils, which will replace the plethora of the Sharpwriter #2s I've used in the past, they're much less ecologically wasteful.  I write mostly in pen now, but it's still nice to have a decent mechanical pencil for writing stories and making changes on the fly.  Further along is a Unison Medium Pt pen, which are both good and bad.  I have used them for the past year, but I've noticed a drastic drop in their quality; they can be purchased in a tube of... ten? and I can recall at least one tube where they were /all/ duds; you get what you pay for. :/  Still, ones that can write are good for loaner pens; after one died in the middle of my plant biology notes, preparing for the final exam, I had had enough; the pen even had plenty of ink remaining in the ink tube. -_-  Anyway, the last pen on the top row is a Bic Pro that had seen better days.  It writes quite well, but I've not even used it since returning home.  The Fisher Bullet Space Pen on the bottom is a pen that I feel is mostly hype.  While I can use it to write at angles that would stop other ink, in general use, I dislike the quality of the writing ability.  Granted, I found it for free in Key West over vacation, so I can't complain. :D

[Edit:  I forgot the picture. XD]

It's not too bad of a first "Show us your EDC" on here. :D

It's a rather good first showing I'd say! I never leave the house without my Urban wallet including the 301-compact pen.... invaluable items  :tu:

You can pick them up quite easily and there's a great site you can get them from too...
http://www.cultpens.com/index.html

They do ship worldwide but it's £10 to Oz I think - bit steep unless you're putting in a decent size order - Aussie group buy?!  ;)

That looks a very handy wallet and carry Sazabi.  :tu:  Can i ask where you carry it?  Back pocket, coat pocket, bag etc?

I stumbled across Zebra pens (a F-301 for me) a while back whilst I was perusing the shelves of WHSmiths, a most excellent chain of stationers/bookshop/CDs/DVDs etc.

If I do carry something in my back pocket, at most, I would have a bandanna and home-made writing pad and my keys dangling into my rear pocket.  As it is, though, the Urban Wallet goes into my front left pocket, the Explorer Plus and cell phone into my front right pocket, keys plus carabiner clipped to belt loop, either free-hanging or dangled into right rear pocket, and if I carry the Kick that day, it could go into either my front left or front right pocket. :)

The only problem I'm having with the Urban Wallet right now is actually the credit card holder. ^^;  When I have it full of cards, the insert is too bulky. :/  I may have to go for a Big Skinny to slip into the Urban wallet to keep it slim. ^^;

LOL..Almost. :) Actually I forgot to put my keys and wallet in there too.  Key ring is one of those mechanic key ring things from county comm with a peanut lighter and one of those LED keychain lights.  There's also a small first aid kit that I made...it's in the bag.  I ride my bike everyday so I've also got a bike tool, pump and all that too.  Too much crap, but most of it gets used.  Thankfully, I haven't had to use the first aid kit yet.  knock on wood. haha

Both of them are mighty fine bikes, IMO.  The Rincon is my go anywhere do anything bike...my MT bike :).  The Cannondale is my long distance, biking for exercise bike.  Why are Cannondales so rare over there?

I think at least as far as my area's concerned, none of my local bike shops are Cannondale stockists :-\

This is my EDC gear, the stuff I always seem to be carrying around with me. I have 2 different set-ups, Daily and Work.

This is work, it includes truck and house keys on a Helly Hansen lanyard, Leatherman Skeletool CX, company logo folding knife, MEC Bandanna and my Fox wallet.

This is my daily EDC, the only difference being that the folding knife I use at work is replaced by my Gerber Paraframe II and sometimes my Victorinox SwissCard Lite is thrown in.

Great setup! Love your style!

What´s that Duracell thingy? I see two Cr123a lights, so a third light does not make sense, and it´s shape like it is not a batterie case for spares, so...?

Yikes.  Okay:

The stuff on the far right is somewhat discretionary ...  I don't carry it every single day; depends on the mission.

In no particular order:

*   Palm Treo 680 in Husky (Home Depot) holster with Sharpie and Gel Pen
*   ANSI blue-tint safety shades
*   Boker Subcomm
*   Modified Surge
*   Tin of Skoal Apple  (often with added lubricant from square bottle pictured in back)
*   Notebook with extra Sharpie
*   Vic USB drive and cute sheath
*   Starret tape measure
*   4" dial calipers
*   Custom Leather Trucker Wallet by Trapperman, Nickle Chain - holds everything - really useful - tends to leak money
     - Keyring
     - combo magnifier/thermometer/compass from EDC Depot
     - Gripper Tweezers (to my horror I just discovered they are missing!  :cry: )
     - Blue capsule from EDC Depot (also missing, but I knew about that...)
     - Leatherman Radio Shack with the neat wire strippers
*    Fenix PD30
*    Bronco keys with Vic Belt Clip
*    Benchmade McHenry-Williams
*    Atkins Advantage bar circa 2006 (which is probably even more inedible than usual in anything but an absolute emergency)
*    Calibri Windproof/Waterproof Lighter ... vintage to say the least
*    1 liter of Industrial Solvent, Lynchburg Tennessee.   (Although I don't EDC the bottle; I am known to carry a large quantity in my person, especially in the evenings...    :drink:)

Yeah, I know.  I need to clean out my wallet, reduce the number of keys, replace the notebook with a nice Moleskines, find a better way to carry the notebook/tape measure/calipers, replace the missing items on my keychain, buy a new diet candy bar, and quit dipping tobacco and drinking.  Other than that, I'm ready for anything.  I think.  Bring it; we'll see!   :ahhh

-steve
