Is £25 a good deal for one of these? (like new apparently)

I may be wrong but I rather think the Vex was out first and then Spyderco came out with the Tenacious.  Having not held either one I'm only guessing but I like the look of the Tenacious more.

The Benchamade Vex came out before the Spyderco Tenacious, and as the Tenacious, is also made in China (maybe in teh same factory, sin ce they have almost the same shape and materials). For what i read, i'ts classic Benchmade extraordinary quality. There a some good reviews around the net about this knife (remember some reviews over Knife Forums), and all the owners seemed quite impresed by this knife.

If you opt for a Benchmade Vex it's better to take the tanto model with the thumbstud, as this will perform flawlessly.
The Spyderco round hole which Benchmade uses under license in the Vex spearpoint however seems to suffer from some sort of misplacement in the blade, for lack of a better word.
It feels like the hole is placed to close to the ricasso as well as to the handle, and when you try to open the blade your thumb always catches the upper left portion of the handle, which many times forces you to readjust your thumb.
Depending on the size of your thumb this doesn't feel comfortable.

No such problem on the Spyderco Tenacious, as i have tested them both.

I just got the PE drop point Vex and I'm totally impressed by the quality and effort Benchmade put into this knife. Comfortable grip, nice G10, beautiful coating on the blade and liners.   Kwakster's right... the tanto version looks nicer and the thumbstud may be better if you have large hands.  I have small hands so the spydie hole on the DP Vex works perfectly fine for me.  Blade flicks out just as fast as an AO!

Yes, the Benchmade Vex came out way before the Spydie Tenacious. I picked up one back in 2006 not long after they first came out. Not sure how they are now but these first ones were built exceptionally well.

I did a initial review of mine back then if anyone is interested: http://www.knifeforums.com/forums/showtopic.php?tid/785135/ Not sure what the policy is here about posting links to other boards but if I am in violation of some for posting this then please remove.

Anyway, they are good knives for the money.

Hahahaha.......  :D

Yeah, I know he is but still wasn't sure. I know some places like to keep such things apart from one another. Just didn't want to ruffle any feathers if I could help it.
