Managed to snap the tip off the smaller driver on my Kick the other day. :(  No abuse as far as I'm concerned, I was simple turning a screw with it.  No picture I'm sorry to say but I was at work when it happened and I simply reshaped the tip back to a working form before I even thought of taking a photo.

Good as the LM drivers are (and they really are IMO) perhaps a little to brittle?  :-\

Need a replacement mate?

Na, you're OK Dave it's back in working order, thanks for the offer though.

Just saw this one on eBay: ParaTool :(

Wish I'd bought that one- I have a spare Paratool plier head...

Got these 3 poor old Gerbers from US Ebay as a 3 tool lot. I knew the Suspension & 400's rather obvious issues  :D, I had hoped the seller did not know how to put the plier head into the 650's handle  :D :D.
Well the 650 DOES have issues, BOTH  :o :o plier retention clips were broken  :( :(.

But I am most happy as the 650 came with the Fishing plier that I needed & I can use it's tools as spares  8).
The 400 with a bit of cosmetic surgery & a LOT of elbow grease will live again.
That leaves the Suspension  ??? ??? ??? :D :D , I think its tools will fit in the 400 & 600 MT's

Latest tool at bottom missing BOTH plier retention clips, 650 in the middle missing one clip & good 650 at top.
The plier retention clip appears to be a massive weakness on the 650. Note the different angle of the clips , the middle tool's clip was rather extreme & I think was the main reason the other clip broke. Bending the clip into a less extreme angle I think would solve the problem of breaking clips  .
I think Dennis/WH867 has had to do this on one of his 650's

Poor, poor Gerber’s, but don’t worry, Nurse Mat will nurse you back to health.
There is no problem that cannot be solved by the use of high explosives.

Yes, I'm ressurecting a thread from the age-old past. No, this will not save my Leatherman Wave:

"My spleen!"

Before anyone asks, I readily admit that I abused this tool like mad for five years. It has seen and done things to make other pocket tools weep.

I don't think I can reiterate often enough the absolute bloody-mindedness of that Wave. The fact that it just now broke is a testament to the quality of Leatherman tools.

Looking through this thread I found no broken Swiss Tool images. Do they exist?

Well there aren't many Terry, but there was this one. Can't imagine what somebody could have done to it to bust it though? :P

Hmm, no Swiss stuff :D

Ahem... ::)

I've saved these pictures of busted tools over the years. Some of them belong to members here. My apologies as I cannot remember who all I've copied them from. Please jump in and claim photo credits if so.

Fascinating to look at don't you think? Its almost like how people can be drawn to the sight of a horrible disaster; you don't want to watch, but you can't look away! :ahhh

Thanks for that Bob. I couldn't tell the brand because it was a small image and I don't have SwissTool experience

Yeah, I had to look long and hard for that photo. The SwissTools are practically bullet proof - I don't think many of them end up with broken pliers.

You break one side by squeezing to hard and you say to yourself, "what the heck, I'll try to break the other side prying with it."
