Nice and shiny.  Gonna have to do something about that..... >:D

:D  It'll get there soon enough I'm sure.  Here's another pretty pic, just to get it officially out of the way.  Today it opened boxes, cut coupons, opened tint cans, pried open paint cans, and tightened a couple of screws.  It also opened a can of hash earlier for dinner.  :)

You gonna need to do a lot more then that to get the "shiny" of. Frankly, with use like you describe, it will take a few years. That Spirit is a tough bugger. I hammered a nail in with my Road Tour handle. Not even a tiny mark. Unless you drag it behind a car for a few miles it is dang hard to get it scuffed.
Yep so I noticed after using it as a hammer earlier.....  ::)

Spirits are so though they Keep you from buying one of those hammer multi's.  :D

I consider myself a very lucky new member of the SOC - I've been carrying my new Spirit around for a week now and am really impressed with it's quality.

I love the 'butter' knife - so much so I think it would be a great addition to a usual SAK.

Here are some pics of 'Nabber':

The only improvements I can think of would be a proper lanyard ring and somehow (don't know how) making it UK legal.

The fit and finish is marvellous although I can't compare it with any of its competitors. I have probably reached the pinnacle with my fist ever full sized, pliers based MT.

Cheers again Gustaphasmob  :salute:

I was talking to a chap at work today and he mentioned he had 3 Leatherman tools. I asked if he'd bring them in for me to inspect as I have never seen one up close.

He brought in a Supertool, a Surge and a Micra, and left them with me for half an hour so.

If I'd seen them before having a Spirit I think I would have been impressed by them, and I'm not questioning their capability as their popularity on this forum is testament to that, but they seemed quite unrefined when compared to the Spirit.

Do others agree?

I don't carry mine routinely mainly because of the locking blade.   I recognise the fit and finish, for example the complete absence of clumping, rock solid lock-up and easy nail-nick access to every tool.  I don't like the polished finish (over brushed) because I fear it will mark easily.

For my needs which includes cutting stranded copper wire the cutters are poor  and the cutter notch halfway up the cutter results in a short plain section which struggles with cable ties.  No idea why the designer thought two notches were required.

Of course there is always the excellent scissors but I would rather keep them for paper.

Been my EDC at work for the last few months.

I really love the serrated butter knife.

The standard Vic sheath was nice and held everything fine, but I found it started to stretch out and wasn't a snug fit for the tool anymore. In this pic I have everything minus the corkscrew and plus a Fenix E01, jammed into a Skinth L Shield.  It is real tight but it is loosening up and is working well.

I prefer the Spirit to the regular SwissTool, but both are great tools.

About the same as on my other Spirit - just less than a millimetre.  No problem for me.

Do you have a weekend of playing ahead of you?

Wiil it be a user or a shelf elf?

Very nice either way.

I used my SS version today to remove and measure a barrel lock at work. Easy peasy.

Have fun with it  :tu:

Started playing already. :D  Definitely a user - used it this afternoon while fitting a new car battery, and then to open some tins of beans and packets of herbs while cooking chilli for dinner. :tu:

Good, I'm glad you found one you're happy with.

I'm trying to tell myself I don't need to collect all of the different variants.

Hello,

I’ve got my 1st Spirit for Christmas.  I’m impressed with the quality, except of the pliers – I attached 2 pics – is this normal, or they are not correctly fitted? The tool is brand new, with no stamped pliers. The pivot is also OK, no side movement.

Thank You for help  :)

Who cares how Kirks feels about it, how did I get left out of this deal. It is common knowledge around here I am all about indecent smurf and Spirits. Would have thought Harley was the first name to come up in this sort of conversation.

Is it my new rule about not putting out till after dinner? It is more of a guideline or suggestion then a rule. Heck for the right offer I would even pay for the food. Just saying.

Big news from the Spirit World........

I have moved my lanyard! The new position is much better:

Also I have a modded bit holder I use on my Monwoody (as it's been renamed) and it fits solidly on the Spirit too:
