I know the wire cutters aren't replaceable but how do they stack up?

I know it might not be a popular opinion here, but I feel the wire cutters are one of the Spirits few weaknesses.  Not the best at cutting and not very big either.  They are pretty durable though. :)

I favor a realistic appraisal of my tools especially if it gives me a better idea of what I can count on and what I should supplement with another tool.  Being blind/deaf to criticism is helpful to preparation for the unexpected.

Here is a wire-cutting face-off I found on YouTube:

Wire-cutting may not be the Spirit's strength but it accomplishes what I need it to accomplish.

I still remember when my Spirit X arrived and the package was so small I thought the company sent me the wrong item.  When I slid the small dark brown case out of the box, I was amazed at the small size. Then I removed and opened my new Spirit X and it seemed impossible that this tool came out of such a small case.  Examining each tool just reinforced my feeling that I made an exceptional purchase.  If I want the "Monster Truck" of multi-tools, I can always get a Leatherman Surge. Meanwhile, the Spirit X meets my needs perfectly.

I'm new and assumed that if you had the SAK/tool then you were a member of that particular group.  After seeing Sawman's request to join, I thought that I had better do the same.

I have a Spirit X and would like to join the Spirit Owners Club.

Thanks Sawman!  When I opened the package it was mailed in, I thought they sent the wrong part and forgot the pouch.  Opening the box, revealed the pouch holding the Spirit X.  I was shocked with how small the pouch was and even more surprised when I deployed the pliers because it seemed impossible that it could fit in such a small pouch!

A salute to you and all Spirit owners!

This latest post activity brought a smile to my face in that I really, really  :like: the Spirit!!!

I am not a fan of the "Butter" knife even though I can appreciate its capabilities if not its looks.  Once I had researched the Spirit options and learned that the Spirit X would give me this great tool set with a traditional blade, I made the purchase.

I have a strong partiality to Leatherman multi-tools and was highly skeptical that another multi-tool could possibly be preferable.  At the time, I pictured the traditional Swiss Tool.  Eventually, I got a close look at the Spirit while watching a YouTube multi-tool comparison video.  After getting a taste, I was eager to learn all I could until I had to have one.

I was very impressed with the build quality and form factor when I first received my Spirit X.  When I opened the Spirit X to access the pliers, it seemed impossible that this tool could be stored in such a small pouch.  The more I played with the Spirit X, the more I liked it!

Welcome!

I ordered around 10m of camo paracord and it arrived recently. Had some free time today to make a slim ripcord bracelet (quick deploy) and wrapped the handle (also quick deploy style) of my Maxpedition Mini.

Used the Spirit to open the package, cut paracord to length and singe.

Now what do I do with the excess paracord

Hi everyone!

I'm new here. I just got my Spirit X and I like it very much. I used Leatherman Wave for years, but now I got my first Victorinox. I'm pleased with the quality of the Victorinox after the Wave.  8)

So, I have a question for you guys: Why does some Spirits have different stamp on the handles? In store they had three different stamps on Spirit X. Neither one had stamp on the plier heads. Does this have anything to do with the manufacturing date?
