Swiss Army Knights Forum / New $33 Huntsman

that is crazy that you can get a Huntsman on Amazon for $33. Victorinox still make the best bang for the buck knives and I don't know how it's possible

Well, Carl Elsener said they're thinking of starting a bladeless line of tools, seeing how sales are being impacted by knife crime. :(

What models would you like to see?

This also raises the question of What is a Knife?
Is the awl ok? The scissors? The saw?

I'd like to see a bladeless urban Cybertool, no blade or openers. Driver, scissors, file, pliers. Maybe saw too?

Or an Alox three hit wonder: file, scissors, saw. But where will the awl go? In a layer on its own?

In the meantime, I'll get a bladeless Swiss Army Something. Swiss Army Tool? Swiss Army Thingy?

Hey, maybe they can go the Elon route, and write "This is not a knife" on the handle. :tu:

Looks like I’ll be getting one of these then

A bladeless SAK or a knife-carrying religion? I think it's time for Grant to declare his vision, and lead us to salvation. :salute:

Leatherman Tools / Re: MAY 2024 MICRA 30 Day Challenge

I like a good garlic bread, too!
They do look pretty cool as long as they don't collect too much gunk.

Another great day, y'awl!

Day 10

I tested the Micra's curious little tweezers today. They grab well enough, but they are a little awkward to use. I awlso find them a little on the flimsy side. It's no wonder Leatherman extended the height of the one scale to protect them a little.

I'm not a fan of the tweezers. I'd rather have both handles have the tiny cut-out, instead of having the tweezers on one side, with the giant cut-out.

Day 10

Last week my better half bought me a micra I had been looking at on ebay.  The ad said for parts, and 7 available.   That evening I received an offer for $5, it was the last one.  So she hit buy now!  We didn't look at/ or see pics.
It looks great , almost no wear or damage, except one of the lock/ stop tabs is broken off.  Still, it's cool.

You might be able to get a new one as a warranty claim.

Not impressed with the hole punch, the Micra blade was much better at making the necessary holes.
But it worked! The snap buttons are great!
Gonna replace more Velcro, and start putting them on sheaths and bags too. :D
