🔥DAY 21🔥

i've been out exploring and out of cell range so here's my catch-up posts  :ahhh

finally got enough sun to attempt a Mag fire

🔥DAY 22🔥

couldn't find any dry tinder the second day so my Mag fire attempts were unsuccessful so I got out the matches. here's my tinder and newspaper ablaze before getting scooped up with more newspaper and thrown into the fire pit.

i've been enjoying catching up and reading all of the great posts and uses here

That's a neat idea to wrap duct tape about the ferro rod, not only it's a decent tinder by itself and it's useful to mending stuff on the field when needed.

Exactly, quite functional. One of the many ideas I picked up when it was circulated through the youtube creators.

The chart says 2009 but adds a question mark.  Best wishes.  G

Nice.  I think you could figure out how to make a pinhole in the scale.  Looks like the corkscrew side scale is damaged now.  That would be a good one to experiment with.  There have been some posts here about converting the scale for a pin.  Might want to look them up.  Best wishes.  G
 :D

You know what, that's a great point actually. Since the scale is already damaged, and I would prefer plus scales anyways, I should just swap the entire scale for plus scales and get the pin hole as a bonus. Does anyone know when they started making the pin holes in all the scales?

Day 23
The Rebar and a traveler full of coffee.  I spent much of today driving.  Trying now to decide if everyone else that I encountered on south Florida's Ronald Regan Turnpike is just an idiot, or if they were maliciously trying to kill me.  Also trying to decide, now that I'm home, if I should add a little Irish to what's left of the coffee and call it a day.  One decision is easier than the other.
