I think the answer is “no”, which is one of the weaknesses of stormproof matches.

I will soak the strip today and try to light. In the case of my kit, the matches are new so there is an extra striker strip inside with the matches that could be brought out if the outer one is not working. Obvious weakness is when the outer strip wears out.

Gets me thinking though, why not just carry the strip with the matches all the time to prevent it getting wet?

That's a shame, was a nice little tool. Surprised I didn't hear sooner. I might have to get a spare or two.

I do have a similar container in dark olive green somewhere, but I do wonder what if the striking pad gets wet, will it lit?

I like the Huntsman, it’s nice to have an SAK that is not that „Scarry“ for others like these monster SAK I carry also some time (Cybertool L or Swisschamp, ) it’s not because the color it’s more because it’s just an ordinary SAK .. and I have allready 11 or 13 of this kind..

So I wanted to have something that is a bit more unusual , like the Swiza Knives..

Congrats on getting this, I saw it on eBay and forgot to bid, even in the bad condition it’s in a steal for the price

Hope you get to fix it up, I wonder if you could send it to Vic?

Day 25

Imco keeps a new Hanklight D4K triple channel company.(that's a mouth full).

Really liking many of the Hanklight offerings--you could practically choose any popular led installed in the light with different functions/configuration.  This particular one has dual white/Red/UV led all installed on the same chassis.

Thanks to the Anduril flashlight software, it does make it rather easy to operate, despite a complex configuration.

Day 25

And my small Clipper. Just as good as the big one. :like:
I got this small Fiskars utility knife. Not good. :(
Is it because it is not multi purpose like some other utility knife?
I think the popluarity of a certain youtube video does bring a lot of attention to the Millwaukee utility knife in the past years, and I still have yet to get one.

After more than a decade of watching and wishing I finally got hold of a Voyageur.  :woohoo:

It's a little rough... okay, it's a lot rough...   alright, alright,  it's a bit of a POS.

But it's a Cap Lifter, Elinox tang stamp VOUAGEUR!!!   and it's MINE!!!

I do have a pair of 84mm scissors that came from a knife with broken backspring and maybe can find a blade to suit.

I have multiple VICTORINOX 84mm blades and at least one VICTORIA blade but I would want to stay with the original tang stamp, and for more than just preserving the value of it.
If I do have an ELINOX blade it will be part of an existing knife.
Will it be worth "robbing Peter to pay Paul"?  We'll have to wait for the postman to bring the answer to that question. :mail:

Until then, all I have is the EvilBay listing pic's to drool over.  :ahhh

I have the "Tinker" equivalent (D04). It's a decent knife. With Vic slashing the 85mm line, it's probably your best bet if you want a locking SAK-style tool. Otherwise, I think I like the feel on the Vics a bit more. Maybe I'll carry it for a while and get a better feel for it.
