OK, but typically bike threads go in the Outdoor Edge forum....It shall be moved hence forth :D
Hey, where's a mod when you need him? :D
ill post olli´s bikes more a.s.ap :DThank's mate, I'd appreciate that

that one in pic above is a bit strange for one wheeler, cause it has those odd spokes,so long...usually they buil those so that driver sits as low as possible and keep the weight down down down.and the lighter the rim and wheel is,the better.since they the weight on top isnt much.and the centrifuge powers are minor too then,so it stops too ;)

Oooh, I hadn't thought about stopping! Can you imagine locking up the brakes on it while going down a hill? :o :D
I had a friend who worked at the bike shop.Yep always checked the bike, kicked it straight, then noticed the broken ribs :D
Just a couple questions for all the bikers....When and if you crash do you first tend to your bike than your protruding collarbone?
When your wife sneaks up on you while you are online does she catch you in the act......of looking at sexy carbon fiber and titanium bikes?
BTW Tour de France is on.....Stage one was today
16:22 - Today's top ten: 1. Alejandro Valverde (Caisse d'Epargne ) 4hrs 36mins 07secs 2. Philippe Gilbert (Francaise des Jeux) #plus;1 3. Jerome Pineau (Bouygues Telecom ) 4. Kim Kirchen (Columbia ) 5. Riccardo Ricco (Saunier Duval ) 6. Cadel Evans (Silence - Lotto ) 7. Fraenk Schleck (Team CSC ) 8. Filippo Pozzato (Liquigas ) 9. Oscar Freire (Rabobank ) 10. Oscar Pereiro (Caisse d'Epargne).

This one seems intriguing, but how is it steered?
I want a tri bike or maybe a cross by Surley. Maybe a Litespeed Blade tri bike. Nicest bike i've ridden was my friends Eddie Merchx.I've heard a lot of good things about them too :), apparently there as good over cobbles as the great man himself :)

this is my another mountain bike, more like a downhill racer, old but so what, its gets me where i want, and sometimes not ;).
Clean that bike immediatly :police: :D
What is it mate ??? (not really up on mountain bikes :-[)
hey thanks man.its fully handmade @ 2003.im about to upgrade it a bit with 170mm single crown manitou fork.
The bike now has a Fenix Bike Light mount on the front near the handlebars. I'll have to get a quick review done one day, as I haven't seen anybody else with one. My L2D fits in very snuggy, and its easy to operate the torch as its right near your mits :D

I had one for a while, but decided it was overkill. I prefer the TwoFish Lockblock for its simplicity.
That's the one I had. I found that I didn't need the angle (left to right) adjustment, and the TwoFish will accept a wider variety of flashlight bodies.
I've nothing against the Fenix though, it works very well.
hey Micky have u raced with bikes too?Nah, I'm no where near fit enough to compete :D
in velodromes,road or off-road?
yep i envy that culture u got there, heres about 50 bike messengers who get paid for it,and about 20 of them drive thry year, and 10 of them...about...drives only fixie´s.Yeah it does take quite a lot to master fixie's, I'd love to be able to ride a pure fixed wheel, as they weigh next to nothing, and look stunning, but I need gears coz of my duff foot :(
but now in my hometown one shop has even taken few single speen mtb´s,road bikes and few fixies to sell.
ive driven quite a lot fixed gears but at first it was really hard and i was always scratched up and had lots of bruises after tryin to brake on hills;)

and with hup gears?Thats very generous of you mate , I may even take you up on it come winter time :)
let me know if u need something to convert it.i do have some lot of old school bits,i dont care for new bikes at all, except some mtb´s.but if u need some old hubs or whatever, hit me up.
and if u are about to build it in vintage racer style, ill gladly sponsor u a bit, with some mustache bars,1930´s grips or something.
yep. Bicycling not only destroys your knees but can rebuild them as well. I'm 6'5 and running does not agree with me. Plus i have a titanium fetish. It's a win-win situation.I'm 6'2 and I agree running sucks, I never was much good at it, even when i was running a lot to pass selection for the forces :-\

mike do you have a fixed gear bike?I've got a donor frame to make one :) But I've kinda decided against getting one, as it's just far too hilly down my way to really use one effectively :-\

i dont really understand them  thats why i was asking, is it so the pedals always go round even if your not pedaling?
not sure if i could cope with that all the time, would be nice to try one day thoughNope, it's one I was hoping to get through the Cycle Scheme, but sadly because I work for the council I have to go through them, and there being investigate for fraud, so no Brompton for me unless I save up for one
isnt a brompton folder what you have at the moment?
Sorry to that mile, still got some nice bikes there though =DYeah there not bad thanks :)
:-[ maybe one day mike eh? Hope you get one eventuallyI'll not be denied mate :D
it works really well, folds down so you hardly notice it in your pocket because of the chain , but when you want to use it makes a nice handle
is that the Clive Sinclair bike?Yep :tu:
id never buy a carbon fiber bike, a friend knows the old rolls royce carbon fiber engineer and even he refuses to ride one simply because once it takes AN impact it can fail at a later date whenever it feels like it so i just wouldn't feel safe
Almost looks frosty :)
I'll have to get a photo up of my latest acquisition.....it's a bit of an amalgamation....but i like it!:pok: :pok: :pok: :pok: :pok: :pok: :pok: :pok:

Specialized Crosstrail. When I get a job again, this baby is what I'm saving for.
Looks enough like a bike to use the cycle paths but without all that exercise malarkey ;)Get a Velo Solex then :)
(http://www.akerekpar.hu/files/kellys-arc19.jpg)Get a tourer :pok: :pok: :pok: :D
Im going to get something like this :D
thanks mike ill check them out :tu:Try your local bike shop mate, as the chain stores just won't be interested :-\
for those of you in the uk, do you know of any shops that offer trade ins on bikes? im getting a bit tall for mine and was wondering. If not i might just look into selling it

i am currently in the process of building a new bike for 'City riding', basically a single speed 26" wheel size BMX, as my 'Track' style single speed (700c wheels) was recently semi destroyed when i was hit by a car.Keep us updated with the project please mate :)
i also currently have this Giant STP, but it's not much good for commuting etc. :
this is a bottle opener i got for my bday
made from an old shimano bike chain , not sure what the blue bit is though
(http://www.greenwardshop.com/assets/2008/10/09/7aabf872b9bc0f5dd80f357d64eb9e9c_source.jpg)
:D
I had a set of Hayes hydraulics on my old voodoo. A little heavier but you WILL stop on a dime. Brake pad wear is minimum and it takes very little break in.
I hear Magura are good too.
V brakes are still the most cost effective -weight saving way to go
im going to buy a new bike at the end of the month :) and ive not a clue what to go for!
part of me wants a road bike and the other half wants a mountain bike - i have a feeling ill eventually end up with both but i want decent ones going to spend about £650 maybe more

like that ^ but not really sure what its purpose is though
ive been talking to the man in my local bike shop he reckons he can get me a full carbon racer or a carbon and alloy racer with better spec parts for under £700 as the new stocks coming in and they sell the old stuff off cheap
getting some to look at monday but it will most likely either be a forme or a moda
both look good and are bikes from uk firms :tu:
a new project
I just saw this thread. I would post a pic of my old one but....it's an old single speed bmx supergoose.
are there any advantages of having a fixed speed bike?Other than being easier to maintain, not really :-\
a new project
that make a nice single speed or fixed gear mate, ive got 2 old falcons in my shed one is a 1980 model and the other one is a 1953 model, ive just never got around to doing them, one day ;)I just saw this thread. I would post a pic of my old one but....it's an old single speed bmx supergoose.
pics please :tu: i raced bmx from 1979 till 2 years ago,i raced in the oldschool class on a old robinson, ive had many old bmx's like skyway TA and PK ripper, sadly due to too many injuries and getting old i had to retire at 38 , still love bmx's though :tu:

I'd steer clear of carbon fibre too, and go for a decent 520-521 steel frame if possible :tu:
Dawes do a bloody good range of bikes, that'll last you a lifetime, as would Kona

Fragility mainly :-\
A mate of mine had a Chris Boardman Hybrid, and he cracked the forks when he got cut up by a car (there's a shocker!) and had to take to the kerb :-\
Steel offers the comfort of CF :) Yes it's heavier, but it can take a pounding that would snap carbon fibre like a twig, and stress even aluminium :)
been offered this bike for £900 with shimano shoes that are normally £80 and some clip in pedals that are around £40
http://www.formebikes.co.uk/bikes/road/vitesse.php (http://www.formebikes.co.uk/bikes/road/vitesse.php)
bike normally retails for £1k - £1050
seems pretty good to me
or this for £810 without pedals/shoes

thats a nice looking bike!Yes, it does.. :tu: :D :D
does the suspension have remote lock out? thats a good function
got any pics? :) whats the pricing like?
i think what im going to do is go for the road bike still and do up my mountain bike for in the winter :)
that's a good looking bike, what's a winter hack then? :pok: :D
 on my mountain bike id suspected that the bottom bracket needs replacing well i had about a 30 cm long allen key on the end of my bottom bracket socket to undo it an hour later it still wasnt budging, i was getting annoyed by now. Sooo...
i got a meter and a half long bar and still struggled to undo it! i can't believe how hard it was to undo! ( and no i wasn't turning the wrong way :D )
turns out it is buggered so i now need to find a replacement - are there such BB's that are user serviceable? IE you only replace a bearing on it rather then the whole thing
iv'e got the tool, hence how i undid the old one ;)
cheers, think you can get them for as little as £15, going to put some graphite based lube on it though to give it a little bit more life hopefully

Since we're at it, perhaps I could get some input from our resident bike experts... :D
I'm thinking about getting myself a nice new bike. I used to have a BMX back when I was younger (pre-college, that is...) which I rode everywhere. I'm thinking about getting myself a trekking bike now. Anyone has any good pointers on this matter?

Frames a 58 I'm about 6ft 2 fits nicely
just got my shoes and cleats! they are bloody terrifying haha
SWMBO and I rode kananaskis yesterday, we both have specialized bikes, hers is a hardrock, '09 model I believe and mines an fsr-xc. I just outfitted myself with some disc brakes last weekend, just cable but a huge step-up from my v-brakes I had previously. We biked about 20km in less then two hours with a few pitstops, beautiful day for September I might add. I'll fire some pics of the bikes later!
:rant:It's just a character mark that makes it yours now :)
so i spend 2 hours cleaning my new racer this afternoon my mum comes home knocks it over and scratches it :(
Are all the spokes true? If one's slightly out it'll put a lot more load on it's neighbours :-\
I checked them and they all seemed to be tight. Perhaps I need to just go and buy a new rim. If not, I think I am going to get a new bike sometime soon anyway. I'm looking at the Madone series but there is a part of me that wants to throw my hat in the singlespeed ring.I pity your poor knees already mate :D

As I am new to MT.O still, I'm discovering new areas and stopped to check out this thread. I'd like to get in on the discussion as well. I have an Orbea Aqua 2011 that I got in March, Since then I've put over 800 miles on it. I have been cycling on and off during my career and got into it more since retiring. I started a thread on Cycling EDC in the Gadget Freak/EDC Forum last week. Any of you guys/ gals that cycle have ideas and haven't been there to post and would like to please feel free. I'm always looking into new ways to improve what I carry and do while cycling.

Very nice mate :tu: very classic loolking and looks like the bikes i raced on back in the 90's thanks for sharing :tu:
Here's my Sillgey green Mini-Velo polo bike. I have a purple one, too, with Samurai warrior masks all over it.

No pics here, just wanted to let off some steam.
I used an older, yet still nice Peugeot "Sports Touring " bike to commute to work.
It was a nice steel framed, slim bike with aluminium wheelsan old Weinmann ceter Pull front brake and only 3 speed Torpedo hub.
It had a slim, chromed fork and i fitted a straight chromed bar and a MTB saddle.
Someone stole it last week. Damn Smurfholes...
Now i use an old Rabeneick 3 speed Ladies bike. Looking somewhat liek the old Gazelle standard bikes.
My forme vittesse road bikes been written off as a result of my accident >.< going to take ages to get the money out the bloke that hit me off too i bet :( at least in the mean time i can do some window shopping for a new one
I'm trying to think of a way to fund a Pashley Parabike, but not having much luck :D

(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/03/02/8e9yva2y.jpg)Just changed my tyres as the maxxis ardents that came on the bike tended to skate around a bit in the mud.
Have put a highroller on the back and minion dhf on the front and it has made a big diference.
Low speed and thick mud they will clog,
But if you can keep the speed up they clear very well.
Please excuse the soppy mudguards but they keep me remarkably clean so they will be staying until the weather changes.
Lovely shots there mate :)
As for mudguards, I'm never without them on any bicycle I own, but then I hardly ever off road :)

So here's my road bike, which sees most of my mileage.

I also have a track bike, touring bike, and mountain bike, but no recent pictures of them.
Some bikes are fun because of the ride they provide and some are fun for because of what they carry.

I like that one Ryan. Old school with the shifters on the down tube :tu:
want to find a way of putting a bottle cage on it but keeping with the look, it lacks the two little bolt holes
any idea where i can get them from?

maybe something like this would suit it
found some clamps now anyway so im sorted :)
Definitely a crime. If that bike were in my garage, I'd ride it like I stole it!!!

That is a very nice list of upgrades Xelkos. Keep us informedon the performance of those Hard-Case tires. I road a set of Armadillos for thousands of miles on my old bike and never had a problem.
What about Continental Gator Skins?
? ? ? Show 'em if you got 'em. :pok:
? ? ? Show 'em if you got 'em. :pok:
No, I don't have them. I have no reason to get the Gator Skins. After extensive searching for Gator Skin MTB tires, I found that they do not make a trail tire for the MTB platform, only road MTBs. I was just making a suggestion.
What treads do you use on yours?

Vittoria Zaffiro Pros. I'm also on an Orbea road bike.
Ahh, never rode on a tubeless before. :D 'cept on my car that is.
sad to say she has seen more garage time than road time. original since the day i got her with the exception of tires and tubes

Do you know what model year your bike is? I have an 88 model in the identical color. I can't recommend enough getting the bike back up and running in good riding shape. Bianchi's are fantastic bikes and really like no other I have ever ridden.

Thats a cool mongoose steve ,get some decals and repro pads and it will look sweet, love the cw handlebars very 80's :salute:Yep mongoose. Supergoose and its numbered. No pads required. Never used them. Haro racing gooseneck, ukai racing rims :). Very pricy by today's standards.
Nothing wrong with Folders as I reckon there probably the most practical bikes you can buy :)

Here's my old mule, "Clementine", all decked out and ready to start commuting to my new job in SF next week.

New set of DT-Swiss wheels; 370 hubs and 485 rims, with orange Nite-Ize Spoke-Lits and black reflective tape between the spoke holes. The hitch for my new Burely Travoy commuter trailer, front and rear Blackburn blinky lights, and a Two Fish lock-block for my trusty old ZL SC60w for the handlebars. I'm going to be taking the Cateye Strada wireless computer off and putting it on my Fuji.
Tomorrow I'll be making my last purchase as a Performance Bike Shop employee... black double butted 14 ga. spokes, and red alloy spoke nipples, along with an Ice Toolz expert dishing tool. They'll be used to lace up the set of SRAM X9 hubs I have to the WTB Frequency Team i19 29er rims I got a few weeks ago. Those wheels will go on my Fuji, which will be my sporty/racy bike until I can save up enough to get myself a true race bike, something like a Fuji Altamira, a GT Strike, or possibly even a classic steel racing machine like a Soma Smoothie... :D
Very nice mate :salute: heres a update on my old road bike, living in my dinning room, for now lol :tu:
Something new over the winter. Fyxation Eastside fixed gear bike. My first fixed gear. Definitely challenging, but lots of fun.

I'm going to try save up for it. :)
way way way out of budget but I can
I really really really want a fat bike.
Looks OK to me mate :)
Give it a couple of weeks and you'll be looking for a nice road bike :D
Finally got a new bike. I had been riding the same Mongoose XR200 from Walmart for 10 years. It was time.
(https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5557/14585098007_a932982e90_z.jpg) (https://flic.kr/p/odQrv2)
2015 Trek Marlin 5. I took it out on its maiden voyage the other day on one of my regular local trails along the Great Falls of the Missouri River. The weather was perfect and so was my ride. Since the picture, I have added a Bontrager seat pack to carry, well what else, a multitool. Duh :D
The next 10 years are going to be fun!

Nice looking steed there. So what MT did you put in your seat bag? I carry an orange Juice S2.
Thank you. I like to have my Wingman with me when I am on a ride. Although in the past I have carried my Skeletool or Octane. Looking to get a good bike tool soon, something with a chain breaker, spoke wrench, and the necessary assortment of hex keys. Topeak Mini-20 Pro is my current leading contender.
I have an itching to go from a road bike over to a cyclocross bike. I just can't get a comfortable angle on my road bike. I have adjusted the seat numerous times and no luck. I have had cyclocross bikes in the past and I found them more comfortable due to the geometry. Has anyone here bought a bike and just not click with it?
A few times, yes :(

Let us know how they compare to the Backrollers please as that's what I use as front panniers :)Only one day of use with them so far, and the comparison is a bit skewed, because my Ortliebs were back rollers, and larger, while the Vaudes I just got are front sized, even though I'm using them on the rear.

I put my road bike up for sale (pm me if interested for link). I am pursuing a cyclocross bike or touring bike now. I have a line on an older Fuji Saratoga touring bike and an older Bridgestone touring bike as well. It's been next to impossible to find a decent cross bike that isn't near $1k.
I may (money permitting!) swap my rear carradices at some point so I'll take a good long look at Vaudes nearer the time :tu:Let us know how they compare to the Backrollers please as that's what I use as front panniers :)Only one day of use with them so far, and the comparison is a bit skewed, because my Ortliebs were back rollers, and larger, while the Vaudes I just got are front sized, even though I'm using them on the rear.

That said, I like them. Still got some breaking in to do, but there are three things about them I like in particular compared to the Ortliebs.
1) The top hooks that attach to the rails of the rack lock; there's an audible click when you set them. The down side is that it requires me to actually reach down and make sure they snap into place. They release just as easily as the Ortlieb clips though.
2) The Vaudes are fully framed; the entire backside of the pannier is a molded plastic piece that gives a lot more structural support to the pannier. It makes carrying heavy items easier as the pannier is less likely to flex out of position.
3) The Vaudes also have female buckles on the sides of the pannier, so the male portion of the clip at the top of each end of the bag can be snapped down. The Ortliebs have this funky thing where you run the shoulder strap through that little bracket at the bottom to secure the ends of the top roll. I never like that, and only tried it once or twice before realizing I hated doing it and it didn't buy much utility. I never once got so much as a damp item in them in all the time I've used them in the rain. Even so, the way the Vaudes work inspires more confidence... I'm pretty sure you could pedal through a monsoon with them on your bike and your stuff would stay dry.
The only real drawback is they're a bit heavier than the Ortliebs. I'm using them only for commuting right now, but I'm very impressed with the design. I bought a pair of Ortlieb Bike Packer Plus panniers last fall, and haven't really ever used them; they're like new, and so I'm considering putting them up on fleabay and turning that $ around for the complimentary rear set of the Vaudes. I'm starting to get interested in randonneuring, and it'd be nice to have both a front and back set of totally waterproof panniers for that. Some time next year, maybe late spring or early summer, I'm going to convert my Soma to a triple crank and dedicate it more for touring and randonneuring, and then get something else for commuting. (Probably another Double Cross, but with canti mounts instead of disks.)

Fine looking bike Tom :tu: Is the hearing in the hub on the two speed? It would appear that way to me.
gears
2 speed
On VANMOOF bikes you will only find complete integrated gearing solutions. We believe the outside gearing solutions are not suitable for a commuting bicycle, as they require maintenance and get damaged too easily. The integrated gear (internal gear hubs) is situated in the rear wheel, where it’s well protected. It’s a simple solution and it gives us the opportunity to completely cover the chain as well, making the whole drive train maintenance free.
The most important aspect of the gear hub is not the amount of gears, but the total range (difference between first and last gear) of the gear hub. If the hub has a very big range it’s better to have more steps in between (gears). For example; the B series with a range of 177% is works best with 3 gears, but the S-series with a total range of 307% (!) needs 8 gears to cover the big range and to be sure you find the perfect gear for any situation.
The bike you’ve selected uses a Sturmey archer Duomatic hub, with a range of 138% and 2 gears to choose from. Changing between the 2 gears is done by turning the pedals backward for a little bit, making it a complete cable-free solution. The first gear can be used to climb hills or for fast acceleration and the second gear is great for cruising or traveling at high speed.
Doing some training on your bike?
Sorry, I'll try again:
Doing some training on your bike?
Just bought the first bike I've owned in about 25 years. It's going to be quite a while before I build up any fitness with it, having adopted too sedantry a lifestyle over the last few years - part/most of the reason for deciding to get one actually. Doesn't help that some of the hills round here are real stinkers and I'm a long term smoker :P As this may all end in me having a tantrum, throwing it in a hedge (after I've finished coughing up a lung or two), and walking back with a ciggy on the go :P I've not spent a lot on it. I really don't know if I'll take to this whole cycling lark, but I have decided that I need to say I tried, and I think I got a fair deal for a starter bike (BTW big thanks to Zed for tolerating me plaguing him with questions :salute: :D)
I decided to go for a hybrid as I'll be on a fair mix of tarmac and unpaved roads/paths if I get into it. Only got it tonight, so haven't riden it yet ... although it is a bit tempting to go out while it's dark, as fewer people will see me wobbling uncontrollably and plunging head first into hedges  .... it's been a LONG time since I rode a bike ;) So, maiden voyage will be tomorrow, and if the weather is half decent, I might get a piccy of it too. Till then, here's a stock image ...

Hey JA
What's it like on hard surfaces??
I really fancy a fat bike, but everyone tells me they're no good for commuting on paths or roads. How much extra legwork/lungwork do they require.
BTW that's a stunning looking bike, I'm insanely jealous.
Congratulations Al, :drink:
The first few outings I swear you'll feel like smurf, but stick at it. :tu:

The biggest frustration right now however, is limited daylight hours. New toy, and all :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh because it's too dark to go out to play on :P :D :D

Thanks man, she's been one of the best bikes I've owned. Pushed it way past it's intended use and never once gave me a problem! Voodoo made some pretty cool frames, the paint on it is a really sharp metallic yellow that the picture doesn't really help.

Yeah I'd love to see a shot of it :)
I was looking at Moulton's again yesterday ::)
One day, one day... :D
Well I've got a Brommie, and it is a great bicycle :)
I'm glad I bought it when I had money, as there too bloody expensive now! Lol
I'll hold you to that mate :D
Thanks Mike! It's a smurfbox, but its a smurfbox that I built up, so there's a small bit of pride there :D. I cobbled it together from spare parts with a free frame since I go to school in a less than stellar city, I'd be gutted if something happened to one of my good bikes. But honestly, for what it is, it's a hoot to ride. Pretty light, and moderate gearing makes it accelerate pretty quick, doesn't shy away from jumps or drops either.

Higgins why no front brake? I raced bmx for a long time and its usual not too have a front brake as it is for dirt jumping, but ive never seen a xc mtb with no front brake, shame you dont live in the uk as ive got boxes of spare parts going from 1990-00 , but hey if it works for you :salute:

My own stupidity really lol. 95% of it's life is spent on the road, so I really wasn't thinking for the trails when I built it up. I have a few spare sets, but I like the simplicity of the one brake and one gear. Not too much to get messed up if it has to be locked up in the rain, or ridden hard and put away wet. But I do appreciate the offer, don't worry all my other rides have both :D

I would like to be hitting some dirt jumps with it, but that's something we don't really have in abundance. Just jumping some stair sets and little things like that. Waiting for the skate park near here to thaw out. But I'd much rather fall on dirt than cement. You'll get back to it buddy, all it takes is some time in the saddle!

I can't wait for the snow to melt so I can get out riding again. Didn't ride at all last year, but I want to start again this year.
Honestly, there could be great trails around me, but I don't know any of them. If I saw something that looked like a path, I'd try and ride it. My favorite biking video of all time was shot in BC I think. Guys built the trail themselves then just ripped down it like synchronized. Unreal riding and unreal trails.
Went to the skatepark, 8 year old on a skateboard made me look bad lol! Never really been my thing, but it was a fun way to kill some time.

I'm not a High Tech man myself, heck my newest gear is 2005 :D. Raleighs are underrated in my eyes, great way to get a top tier ride without having to sell your house, car, and first born. My early 2000s M80 is one of my favorite bikes to just whip around on. I'm looking forward to hearing about the ride!
The only ones I pass along are those I pick up with the sole intention of moving along. But even some of those I regret  I got a cool old Univega Alpina for 15 bucks, I don't know what it was about that bike but I just really liked it. But I sold it within a week, so hopefully someone else thinks it's cool too.
Soul is looking happy there. :tu:
Nice hybrid :)
Shame you had to lose the road bike to fund it though :(
I would like to try a Dutch style upright bicycle. They appear they would be more comfortable for daily use, although perhaps not as good in hilly areas. I've been watching this youtube channel for a while to see what it is like in a densely populated area with a priority on bicycle usage.

Soooo... Any of you into fixed gear bikes? I really like the simplicity, but never tried actually riding them :P
32/16 on my old Trek that I recently did up.
I use it to ride with my kids now, no granny gear up the hills, pedal!

Ouch!! :(
This is the most reliable tensioner I have found.
I guess its more complicated than most but it works.

ToPeak do quite a few racks and bags that would be compatible with your frame mate :)Welcome back to the cycling ranks mate :)
:salute:
Thanks guys. It's been a long time but fortunately riding a bike is like, well, um, riding a bike. ;) First up is a rack or something to hold a bag on the back, and a water bottle holder. After that plans include new tires that aren't strictly off-road, handlebar extensions, and a new seat. With those changes I think it'll be a useful utility/city ride. :tu:
I can pick up my Pedelec today! Of course the forecast for this afternoon talked about heavy rain.... I´m excited nonetheless.Today's gonna be a good day then! :)
How's the knee bearing up with the cycling Tom? Last time I went out on mine, I was struggling for about 3 or 4 days afterwards with the tendons in my bad knee

Here is my 1985 Miyata 610. It still needs some work, but is ride-able and I have been riding it a lot recently. It needs a new wrap for the grips. Derailleur adjustment and the brake cables are rusted so probably a complete brake overhaul. The brakes barely work. It also needs a wheel truing. I have a Nashbar AT-1 coming in, in a few days so the Miyata will not be getting much love or money put into it anytime soon, but at least I will have it as a backup. It's to tall for me anyways. Even with the saddle slammed all the way down the length to the pedals is still not a proper length. I can ride it though.

The picture I posted in the other thread was not mine as stated. Its the EXACT same bike just different colors. The only difference is where the gear shift is.
:tu:
yours has center pull brakes and pictured one has canterlevers, ive got a few old sets of weinmann centerpulls, there classics,be nice too see yours back on the rode capt :salute:
I picked this up a couple weeks ago. It is a frankenstein of sorts with a cyclocross frame, assorted Campy, Shimano and XTR parts.
This is the first bike in a long time that has knobby tires on it. I am itching to take this things out on some trails and see how it does :tu:

Nice pic for middle of Winter. Wanaka?Yep, a balmy 9* yesterday in the valley!
Everything looks seated correctly (assuming left hand front as you're in the US), you have two small Philips screws on the side of the break, they adjust the tension of the spring so you can make sure both sides contact the rim at the same time.
To see the adjustment those small screws make, you squeeze the lever and see it return. Each side is going against the other. The pad itself will be adjusted by a 5mm. Leave around 2-3" and then tuck it into the caliper:
Its fine fettling to set them up perfectly, a back you only get through lots of experience and helps put people like myself through college!

I will just have to fiddle with it and see what I can do. The brakes work well enough to be safe so i'm not to concerned but would like to get them working perfectly without having to pay $75 for a tune up.
Do you mean leave 2''-3'' on the cable and cut there? I don't think I can tuck it into the caliper.
I cut the cable and tried putting the cap on and crimping. Since the MT's I used to cut the cable sucked the big one (Rebar and MP400) the end was frayed. I could not get the cap on and almost gave up and while putting the tools away noticed my Teflon tape. I got the idea to use a small piece and wrap the end of the frayed cable. It worked to keep the together and let the cap slide on enough for me to crimp it down. That belonged to another thread...

I finally got the time and $$ to put new tires on my bike. I got a set of puncture-resistant semi-slicks and new tubes for $60 installed. The change was instantly noticeable. The bike handles better and the ride is not as sluggish on the pavement as it was with the off-road rubber it came with. :tu: One or two more little things and my department store mountain bike will be a nice urban ride.
That's a fantastic ride mate! I really do think the bicycle is key to our environmental woes :)

Bikes are packed from Taiwan etc, and then every single bike at a shop has these adjustments, if you skip the shop part, then you have to do them yourself. The good thing is, its not rocket science, so if you're mechanically minded you can easily do it yourself. I no longer work in bike shops, but I do everything apart from suspension cartridge service that requires nitrogen.
I wouldn't worry about stripping your cranks, just use a 15mm wrench. The pedal axle themselves will be 9/16" with a coarse thread, so its not easy to cross thread, and if its stiff then don't force it! Cranks mainly strip when they receive and impact and don't have steel inserts.
You don't NEED a bike stand, but they make working a lot easier. Though it is essentially just a way to secure the bike with the wheels in the air. When I first started racing I can't count the number of times I tuned my gears with the bike upside down in a muddy field. If you have a garage/shed just having something suspended from the rafters will be more than adequate for the odd job.
If you do get into cycling more however, it can be just as addictive, and every more expensive than knives and tools!

I'm sure I can make the adjustments myself. I just need to do some research first.
I have a pedal wrench already so that's good. The only thing I was wondering about is when I assembled the bike there were warnings on installing the pedals. The right side pedal screws in clockwise. The left side pedal screws in counter clockwise. Both pedals are market with either a "R" or "L" for left or right. Are ALL pedals marked "R" or "L" and do ALL pedals screw in clockwise for right side and counter clockwise for left side? If I receive the new pedals I ordered and they are not marked what should I do? One other thing is when I assembled the bike the right side pedal screwed almost all the way in by hand then tightened it down with the pedal wrench. The left side barely went in by hand then I used the pedal wrench to screw it in the rest of the way. When I got close to the end it got tight, then released, then tightened down. I am worried I could of possibly already caused damage to the left side and if I remove it and try to install the new left side pedal the threads will be ruined. I guess only time will tell when I get the new pedals though. I still need to know about what is in bold though.
I know I do not NEED a bike stand but I think it will make things much easier. I do not have access to a garage or shed and cannot hang the bike from anything. What is tuning your gears entail? Is it just adjusting the Derailleurs?
I was messing with the brakes and cannot seem to get them to work properly. I mean they work, but not well and the handle pulls all the way to the handle and barely stops the bike. If I take up slack in the cable it will be touching the rim.
That's a great clip, thanks for sharing.
Here is the bike as it sits now. Extras since I bought it are as follows. Why have the seat so low? Going off road much?
- Triangle bag
- Bottle cage
- Flashlight mount
- pedals
- Valve stem caps
I am liking how it is set up right now. I am debating on adding one of those tiny pumps. It can bolt to the same hardware as the bottle cage. You put the pump on then the cage then screw everything down. I really like the look of the bike and after I got it all tuned up its riding very well. I wanted to add a bag under the seat as well, but I keep the seat so low it would new fit. The seat is lower than in the picture.

I have back problems and I cannot ride very long hunched over. I do not have the longest arms so I really have to reach to hold them. It is much more comfortable to ride with the seat that low.

Did you know there are special saddleposts that allow limited side to side play. Due to that your back is less stiff and you have a more comfortable ride. My bosses bike has this and I quite like it, considering to upgrade mine :salute:
Wow now that's an upgrade! I'd say you did bloody well out of that deal, and yes hardtails work much better on bicycles :)

I do agree about hardtails, but have to admit that my jekyll suspension works a treat with the fox float, plus the lockout is good for foad riding :tu: some great bikes shown guys :salute:
Lockout ;) :tu: although with my bmx bachground i still prefer full rigid or hardtail :tu:

My question is, why fixed gear instead of single speed? Single speed seems far more versatile.
With single speed you get all of the disadvantages of fixed but none of the advantages. ;)

I am thinking about doing little upgrades to the load bike I got for work... Seems we can´t stop tinkering.
Will a new rear derailleur improve on shifting? I have a basic Shimano 7 Speed with a Grip Shift and downshifting is a bit poor. If I slacken the cable, upshift is poor.
Then I´m thinking about replacing teh big Grandma saddle for something fitting my anatomy better - Any tips on a good saddle shape for a bike whwere you sit upright?
The most expensive Idea I have is modifying a Magura Hymec hydraulic Clutch conversion for cable operated Motorcycle clutches to actuate the front drum brake. Most of the force at the break lever is eaten up in teh long cable with multiple bends. I´d like to improve stopping power.

Good quality PTFE lined housing and new inner cables should fix the shifting problems but if not then, as Zed says, Shimano STI levers would probably be better. Gripshift always felt a bit woolly and imprecise to me.
Try to find some compressionless housing for the front brake, should help with power and lever feel. Though a cable operated drum is never going to be as good as a hydraulic disc, for example.
Fettling fail.
You know those ideas that seem great at the time and even though you realise that it's going to take a while (like two or three evenings in the shed) you get on with it anyway? But then it turns out that this part isn't compatible with that, and when you fit the other bit it rubs something else and it takes you an hour to feed the cable through the frame because you've had to re-do it four times because you keep forgetting something then you need to make a spacer to move some parts further over because the people who designed the fourth bit didn't think anyone would be stupid enough to try to fit it to that other bit and then you need to go and buy some Sugru and some other parts and remove some bits that should be useful and it turns into a job that will take two weeks to finish properly. That.

Hey Higgins this is what trail bikes looked like before suspension and disk brakes,I would clean it up and get it off road :salute:
Higgins, I wish you lived close so I could get you to fix up my old Miyata-610. :pok: :D
I oddly prefer older bikes,I remember those hardrocks when they came out, mtb's back then was used for racing and touring so plenty of braze ons,I miss my 94 kona Kilauea I sold a few years ago, it was a comfy ride and the tange prestige frame was so responsive ,one day I'll actually get my GT zaskar back together  I've boxes of old parts including old biopace, although I was never a fan, look forward too pics of your bikes done :tu:

The Hardrock has the Suntour equivalent of biopace, Bionic. I could take it or leave it, honestly I can't feel a huge difference. Do you still have everything for the Zaskar?
There are loads of rack options capt,4 point ones, adjustable ones,i would take your bike into a good bike shop too see what they have, that bike screams mudguards and rack and panniers :salute:
Has your nashbar got 4 rear rack mounts? The second one down looks the most adjustable :tu: bike shops can be clicky and yes expensive :-\

Question for you guys, I just picked up this 1988 Specialized Hardrock Comp that I expected to sell. But the more I have it sitting here the more I want to keep it. Even rode it to class today instead of my usual commuter.....
So here's the question, do I wash her up and send her on her way.... Orrrrr do I delve into the deep dark hole that is bike restoration and blow the whole thing apart polishing and repacking everything from square one and keep it for myself.
It looks to lean more towards a touring type bike instead of what I've come to think of a mountain bike as. We're original mountain bikes more for heavier/off road touring rather than just trail riding? Thankfully, its a Hardrock from before they became the lowest of the low in Specialized's lineup and it sports very functional Suntour XCE components, it even predates 7 speeds.
What do you think?
Yes, that means you can get a rack on there no problem. :tu:
I'd go for the simplest one you can find - the fewer parts to come loose and break, the better IMO. That Diamondback one looks ok (it's a copy of an old Blackburn design, I think).
My lovely fixed gear Cannondale after riding to work this morning.

Thanks Zed.
Put flats on the MTB a few months ago, cos I mostly use it for carrying the boy around and not proper MTBing any more. Quite like the feeling of not being clipped in properly, but not ridden anything really technical yet.
Well...... I picked up 6 more bikes. I think I have a problem.
And I got a hardly used Suntour Sprint crankset and Suntour XC9000 rear derailleur
Nothing special but I love them both. Diamondback mountain bike and K2 Beach Cruiser. K2 rides like a dream.
I guess the simplest way would be to replace the smallest sprocket with a smaller one for testing. I am aware i would have to change the shifter, but I woud be fine with either a topshifter, rapidfire or twist grip. Maybe upgrading to a 3x cog wheel crank set would be another option? Should be possible to get hold of easily used from a parts bike. Would need a shifter fitting the fat seat tube, tough.
We´ll see.possibilities are endless, time and money not so much, sadly.

True, they do sound a bit pathetic... next to 300 lumen lights...
They are more to be seen, maybe I'll add a brighter light to my helmet for when I really need to see.
At the moment they don't seem to be recharging. ???

Aw that's not good.
Well to prove your point, I weigh about 250 and Ive been riding this Diamondback Response HARD on the trails. And it hasnt given me any problems thus far. Built like a tank and not that heavy.Nothing special but I love them both. Diamondback mountain bike and K2 Beach Cruiser. K2 rides like a dream.
I have a very similar Diamondback frame I picked up, they seem to be built like tanks. Waiting on a burlier fork to toss on it.
Good job on the bb Higgins :salute: I love shimano sealed bb's fit them and forget about themfor years, iI still remember taking apart old campagnola bb's back in the day,I need too get out on my MTB soon, been doing too much work and no play :-\
I loved road racing especially time trials, still enjoy riding my road bike but prefer getting off road and far away from cars and people :tu:
Been riding this lately. Major upgrade from my Diamondback Response.

Thats beautiful :salute:
Thanks! I do not have it anymore >:( But I do get to admire it from time to time because I sold it to a riding buddy. It was a nice bike but I get the new bike itch every 3-4 years and had to sell it to fund the next.
And did it add up? It shouldn't, it should weight less or else only entropy holds the thing together :ahhh

Nice. Fixed or SS?
Just got this one today. Its a 2003 cannondale Jekyll it is so clean it looks like a display model at a bike shop. Basically spent most of its life under a tarp. Original everything including tires which look brand new.

Not a well known brand to the general public.
My buddies MTB is a Cotic Solaris, I like it a lot.
I posed this in the movie thread because I just watched it. I remember someone making a thread about (I think) this movie coming out a few months back. Anyways, its been playing on one of the movie channels and its great! Figured you guys would like it. Here is the full trailer.I own this documentarybin blu ray. Its worth it for the scenery alone.

Is anybody into bike parts enough to tell me if there are HD sprung forks suitable for a Load bike? What do you think about sprung seat posts? are there good ones out there or should I rather find a well sprung/cushioned seat?
I think about tweaking the Sturmey Archer front brake on my load bike. I ahev been looking at the Magura Hymec hydraulic clutch conversion Kit for Motorbikes - will the extinftion of cable play and force lost in a mile long brake cable improve the brake enough to justify an investment of around 200.- € or should I rather look for a neqw wheel with hub dynamo and roller/disc/hydraulic rim brake?!
Sorry for spamming this thread, but there seem to b e enough technically inclined bike nuts around to actually be more helpful than bored bike shop personnell.
This is the bike in question:
Drum brake up front, Magura HS11 in the back.
Weighs a ton empty, leta lone full of stuff and tools (or kids)

You can get short suspension forks - often used on recumbent bikes, such as these: http://www.hpvelotechnik.com/produkte/federgabeln/meks_carbon_ac_e.html Check the weight limits on them though, as you'd probably be able to carry much more on your cargobike than the fork could handle. :-\
Maybe look at a suspension seatpost or sprung Brooks saddle for more comfort too.
However, I'd go for the biggest front tyre you can fit, run at the lowest sensible pressure you can get away with. Change to a hydraulic disc dynamo hub too - a Shimano hub and brake shouldn't cost too much (they're particularly cheap in Germany, because of your excellent lighting regulations :tu: ).
Very cool picture. :tu:Thanks
Not sure if this is the right place to post this question, but does anyone here know of a good mountain bike light that is bright, can handle rough riding and is inexpensive? Say, sub $40 american.

Just in case you are not familiar it is the fastest "motorcycle" (has 4 wheels) in the world. Last I heard its top speed of 420mph was only theoretically proven as no one could/would drive it that fast.

Thats going to be a tough one. I'd stay away from anything from a big box store. You might be able to find something on Craigslist that might need a little work.
A very muddy 5hr bike ride today :salute:Sweet. Like seeing a Jekyll put to use. ;) :tu:

It's designed by a guy called Brant Richards, ex of On One and Ragley, now running a company called Pact Bikes, and is going to be made in China by Waltly Titanium. I've owned four frames he's designed - all mass produced. This is the first one that's properly bespoke for me and the kind of riding I love to do.

I spoke to Brant many years ago before on one, think he was connected to the magazine mbuk ,nice guy, hope you enjoy your bike mate,I've got a old on one frame in my shed, inbred :tu:
Looks like you are a loyal to Brant Richards bikes. Never heard of him. Will look him up. I've got a short torso and at one point wanted to get a custom frame but a baby came along and it is on hold.
I am a big fan of Ti bike. I love my Ti Litespeed so much I got a carbon Litespeed as well. When I get on my Ti bike after a while it is like wow, just the perfect balance of stiffness and springyness for me. Not as fast as my carbon bike but cannot beat the ride feel on that bike.
Post pics of before and after the build pls.
Ok, it's an ad for Diamondback, but it's very pretty:I have a diamondback and for that price range($400-$600) its a hard bike to beat.

Hopefully I'll be getting myself a new bike in a week or two, to replace the used one I'm riding now. It won't be anything special, just a department store bike most likely. I've found that a bike is perfect around this city. :tu: Now a question - what do you think, road or mountain? I'm leaning towards mountain. The sidewalks and roads tend to suck around here, but you do see a lot of road bikes around as well. Any other urban dwellers with an opinion on this? You might want a Hybrid. Sounds like you need something right in the middle.
What are those tires you are running?
I'd be inclined to get a good second hand hybrid or tourer for that money mate as department store bicycle probably won't be all that in the long run :)

I rescued a KTM City bike and combined it with stuff I had laying about to make one of those Single-Speed lookalikes that are the latest fad here.
I think a few gears and proper brakes are ok for anyone who is not a death defying bicycle courier...
Cantilever brake up front, 7 gear hub w. break in the rear, frame mounted lock. Reflectors and bell to be road leagal (you will need battery lights, though) - The perfect Beer fetcher or get me home if I don´t get my Motorcycle back together....
It´s too small for me, though. I´ll see if someone in our Scout troop needs a cheap bike.

Interesting setup. What's in those bags?
I parked it there for the pic but yeah I ride through mud like that and deeper
As long as you keep your weight on the back wheel and have low tyre pressure it will go anywhere. It's not a true fatbike as its tires are only 3inch wide, a fatbike usually has 4-5 inch wide tiresI parked it there for the pic but yeah I ride through mud like that and deeper
Interesting. I would have thought wet mud like that would be too much for even those tires. Those fat bikes are a bit hyped over here although I don´t see any real use. We neither have muddy areas nor sandy beaches anywhere close. And no, no snow to speak of either.
BTW: I picked up another fixer upper. Does anybody know anything about teh Sachs 3X7 shifzing gear? It´s a 3 speed hub combined with a 7 gear chainshifter.
Thanks! The Ti bike is taking it's time. Waiting for the factory to finish the detailed drawing.

Actually, I'm now wondering how you can peddle those with any kind of comfort or efficiency. :think:You probably can't at least not the front two with the incredible low handlebar...
I'm going to have a look at an older Dawes mountain bike tomorrow. We are heading out this afternoon to see if we can buy Megan a bicycle. Eventually I will get one too, since parking here is a bit of a nightmare and there is a lot of things to see/do very close by. Unfortunately since I am still having mobility issues, walking to them isn't much of an option.
I'll post some pics later if she gets it. :D

Yeah, CX (or gravel bikes, for the fashionable amongst us) make loads of sense for everyday riding. The carrier is a Carradice Bagman 2 Sport, and the bag is a Carradice Super C Audax.
My bargain bike.
Must say, I'm chuffed to bits with this.

I hate to say it Nelly, but someone's nicked half your front fork. :(lol, yea. I have two leftys. They are great. I never, for one second, felt that it was off balance.
Very impressive bit of engineering there I'd say. :hatsoff:
Very nice, Nelson. :tu: I'm gonna have to see it in person, of course. ;) Perhaps in a few weeks we'll go for a ride......Sounds good to me my brother :tu:

Well gang. After some thing, and my tax refund, I purchased a new Bicycle. It's made by Giant Bicycles, and it's called the Momentum "I need Street". Does anybody else have one??I like that they thought of something "newish". How rigid is that frame?

There great trailers, I think I had about the max weight in it there.Hauling beer mostly... I like that if it's empty you won't even notice its there. And it holds your spur quite well, so it's very maneuverable.
How you finding yours buddy?

I have ordered something that will show on this thread in maybe two weeks (maybe some more)... :DShow contenthttps://www.cube.eu/en/2017/e-bike-hardtail/reaction-hybrid/cube-reaction-hybrid-one-400-bluenflashgreen-2017/

That little unit on my bike is 750W motor with a 52V 11.3ah battery. But I did have to assemble it myself.

I did consider "upgrading" my current bike with a e-bike kit myself (250W tho), but decided that factory built e-bike with German components instead of Chinese is worth few hundred extra euros :tu:

Yea, I've spent the last 18 months reading reviews about various options. The price to get in with a fully assembled unit that is adequate for long distance commuting was in the $2500-3000 range. It was just a bit steep for me, just to see if it was "doable". The kit I bought was just over $1000 ($450 of that was just the battery pack) from Luna Cycle in California. They say they up-spec the controller units to make them more reliable. So far, it's been fantastic. Hopefully durable too.
I definitely want to read your review on your new ebike.

Oh definitely, if I wouldn't have gotten good spring bonuses, I would have went with the upgrade way, the Cube e-bike was around 1800 euros, plus couple hundred in accessories.
The upgrade kit was about 1200 euros, but there is quite a difference in the bikes too, old one is 26" 3x7, new one is 29" 1x10...
Just to wait for couple weeks to find out how it is, ordered it from Germany as they don't even sell it over here
The upgrade kit I was looking for before was Bafang too, just less power, 250W, with Samsung battery I believe, 36V 13.4Ah
As for the hub motors, I would kill for a two-wheel drive bike :pok:
Looks great buddy, but how is it to ride? :tu:

The wheels are off all my bike's and there hanging up so probably not too flat,I'm sure there need some air in them and the bike's serviced a bit :tu:

I've a few years under my belt ;) if you can hang your bike up the tires don't deflate as much as less weight on them :tu:

That makes sense, my bike being an electric bike weighing slightly more than the Empire State building, that could be the reason why the tires were flat as a pancake. :) I've got 9000km on these electric bikes but it was always a commuting tool, I never learnt much about the whole 'biking' aspect of it other than what was necessary for running maintenance on the gears, brakes and cables.
:like:It is the Pugsley. They have come out with a Wednesday, an improved model. The packs are a company out of Alaska, Revelate Design. Gear is military surplus that was new when I bought it. The tent, sleeping bag.
Love me a bit of bike packing. I've lost track of the Surly names - which model is that? What sort of gear do you use?
Ok, I need a little help, me and the little guy have decided to make it a little father / son bonding thing and go around the blocks and just chat and see what’s around, last night we saw 7 deer, a cat, and even a turkey, weather was nice, kinda a sunset, but I got a problem maybe you guys can help with? I don’t have a bike so I’m using the older kids since he doesn’t use it, the problem is the seat, that thing I hard as a rock and skinny, we only rolled around for about 3miles and I was in so much pain! It doesn’t help that I haven’t ridden a bike in like 10yrs because of my health, and I shouldn’t be, but there’s like no traffic, but what can I do to make this seat a little more comforting, I ready to take a small pillow and just duct tape it!Keep riding!
JR

Well it’s going to be a daily thing, just not tonight cause it’s going to rain, but we did a little under 3m the other day and a little over 3m yesterday, but the most important thing is the kids talking, rather then sitting in his bedroom playing on his computer..Amen to that!
JR
Amen to that!Yet at the same time I’m doing a little workout, nothing great, I mean some of these streets aren’t perfectly flat

Well I have a full size bike too but nothing beats a folder for multimodal commuting and it's free here on the trains and busses.Lol, :D
The brommie it's actually fun bike to ride too, didn't expect that at all. It's stable, agile and fast enough for me. Did I already mention women dig that too? :D
Want to see a nekked trike? :ahhh Was swapping to a newer mesh seat, for breathabiliy. :D
Very nice Andy. :tu:
I take it you ride it in traffic? Any issues with being low level and unseen?
Chance would a fine thing! :o
I do have a flag. Though it’s like the circus has come to town whenever I ride it. :ahhh
You certainly couldn’t be a shrinking violet riding one of these.
I’m almost like a one-man parade! :D
One good side effect, though is car drivers seem to be on their best behaviour overtaking it. :tu:
I get the feeling seeing something so unusual wakes them up a bit. And it means they actually give a cyclist some space.
Plus, I think they just like to have a big old gorp! :D
Cheers Andy.
I'm old enough that I remember the "can't be seen by drivers" being one of the huge gripes being thrown at the Sinclair C5.

Real nice Brompton!
Is that an S6L?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks, it was a M and I converted it to a S, hence the excessive cable slack you see. The only one I could find in Black Liquor at the time. Some day when I am less flexible it will be a M again. That is if my wife dont make me sell it :)In stock form…

Lovely!
Mine's a bog standard matt black M6L.
I really like these new colours; especially the Black Liqour; but just can't justify yet another bike to gather dust in the shed :(
