Thanks, guys  :hatsoff:

Poncho, does your pocket clip move from side to side easily?  If not, what did you do to keep it in place?

It does move some but the tab has been flattened out on mine and maybe I put a kink in it to give it some tension  been a long time since I put it on and I have likely forgotten :ahhh :D

General Tool Discussion / Re: Australian Knife Laws
« Last post by Vidar on Today at 11:39:45 AM »
Tradesmen will have to register all tools with serial numbers and carry authorization to use them.

We actually had a case here some years ago where 2 carpenters got fined for wearing knives in public. They had walked to a nearby cafe for lunch without stripping off the knives from their tool holding clothing. It was recogniced that the knives were for work and that they had the required civil use of the knives, but the lunch break was not considered work. Not sure how that would go down in Australia, but to me that fine was a lack of common sense.

I can only say that under current laws lots of what I and others did when we were younger would be illegal today. And yet, I'm pretty sure there are more stabbings today than back then. There is certainly a problem somewhere, but restricting knife access seems to be going after the sympoms instead of actual underlaying causes.

Nice find! Did Norway have hallmarking for silver allowing you to identify the maker? The UK used to have extensive hallmarking for precious metals, but the rules were relaxed to more generic content marks (either parts per thousand eg 925 for Sterling silver, or carats) in more recent years and only expensive jewellers/makers seem to use full sets of hallmarks allowing you to date, value, place and identify the maker these days - we also lost some city hallmarking centres too with time…..

My father has the old version of that hatchet with the stacked leather handle.  I hope to inherit it someday, long in the future.  My father and I have both been given stitches by that hatchet, which makes it a heck of an heirloom!   :ahhh

I'm really excited to play with this one.
