Serrated line cutter?
on: September 22, 2007, 06:49:44 PM
Has anyone ever used this? It isn't talked about a lot, and it doesn't come on any models. I was thinking about getting one, but I wanted to make sure that there wasn't a reason it wasn't popular.

I've only seen photos of the serrated line cutter. Seems to me it would be MORE useful than the V-cutter. Never had a SOG tool equipped with one though.  :-\

Looks like there's no notch for the lock on the newer tools...one could be Dremeled in easily enough, but it's just an observation :multi:

My EDC  PowerLock EOD model  - eBay acquired for $33.00 last year , I added the Serrated Line Cutter  and other tools were swapped out to make it more to my liking  - don't leave home without it !

Why do I carry a 45 ?
Because they don't make a 46 !

Does that type of serration work any better than plain edge? Seems to me serration need the point to bite into whatever you are cutting and those wavy patterns doesn't work like that.

I ordered a V-cutter from Heinnie Haynes http://www.heinnie.com/  for my powerlock But they sent me a serrated line cutter . I liked it so thought I'd keep it  but it was one of the old ones and didnt have a lock cut into it  >:( I phoned them up and they said no problem just send it back and we'll send you a V-cutter . But when I did the replied they didnt have any in stock ans refunded my money  :(

Hence why I put the scissors back in . The thing is SOG encourages us to buy and swap tools but for us Brits its proving a little hard . Is there anyone on the forum who stocks Sog parts ? I'd prefer to use paypal . Just wondered incase any tools break .

Just curious, would a v-cutter fit on a Charge or is it too big? (or just non-compatable)

Never tried it, but.....I think the pivot hole is the right size. :-\ The notch in the back would need to be widened for the Charge toggle lock to function though.
