Victorinox Damascus

Has anyone here really used their Victorinox Damascus blades? How did they perform? It seems like they are only ever available on collectible limited edition runs. While I'm quite happy with the regular Vic steel, if the Damascus blades hold an edge longer that would make me even happier. Also, does Victorinox ever plan to incorporate the Damascus blades into a regular edition, something like a Farmer or Soldier?

I think that even if the Damascus blades hold an edge longer, it'd probably be cheaper to have a knife maker make a couple high-tier grade Vic blades and slap it in a standard ~$40 SAK than the cost of a single Damascus SAK. :/

That's just my opinion, though. ^^;

If I had one Im sure Id use it  :o  Id give it hell just to see. According to the website he Damascus steel is harder by a couple points than a regular Vic so Im sure the blade would remain sharper than the others. However I would not pay that price just to see if it is better.
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?

So it's basically a pocket jewelry/collectors item kind of thing. I thought I remembered SwissBianco saying on Bladeforums that Victorinox planned to start offering Damascus blades on regular editions at some point but maybe I was just dreaming :think:

That would not be my interpretation.

I think it is unrealistic to think that Victorinox will use Damascus in their regular line.
