Need help identifying a SAK
on: February 26, 2013, 01:52:38 PM
I have looked all over Sakwiki and can't figure out what this one is.

I'm pretty sure it's 91mm because it's the same length as a Swisschamp.  I think it's a technically a 6 layer with saw and fish scaler in one layer.

The front side tools are like a Champion but the backside tools are different.

Anyone know what it is?  Or where else I can go to look?

:)

It's an older variation of the Handyman (SABI 5041), from before the pliers were invented :)
By the way, the Champion adds the mag glass and Phillips.
You should seriously visit vicfan.com. All the hoopy froods are doing it.

Thanks Reinier.  I appreciate the help.  The reason I thought it was similar to a Champion was from looking at Sakwiki here http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Champion  The one one pictured is similar on the front side.

It's good to know it's a Handyman.  Do you know an approximate age for it? I picked it up recently and I rather like it.
:)

I notice that the knife has the old fine screw driver. It was introduced about 1977. The new one about 1985. This should give you an approximate date.
