Missing SAKwiki pictures list.
on: November 06, 2013, 08:48:54 PM
As you may have noticed I started 6 threads (listed below) with a list of missing or hotlinked images from the SAKwiki. I was doing some maintenance on the wiki during the summer and noticed quite a few pictures being missing so I started to make a list of them. I was discussing it with Francis and we decided to ask the members here to help us update the wiki with those pictures. I was waiting for Francis to get back but a few members offered to send me the pictures so maybe it would be better if we started to collect the pictures now so we can gather a them for future uploading.

The uploading and adding of the pictures will be done by myself and Francis to avoid confusion and mix-ups . Too many cooks ... ;)

There are quite a few common models missing as some of them were hotlinked to Victorinox and Wenger sites. And as you may know they both changed their pages and also have that IP filtering thing now that doesn't allow the US folks to view the EU pages and vice versa. ::)

Also, we are trying to have all the pictures saved in house, so all the pictures used in the wiki pages should be stored in the wiki galleries. Some of the pictures on the list are currently visible but are linked to sources we have no control over and don't have permissions of the owners to use them.

As I've said, I made the list during the summer so maybe some of the missing pages have been fixed already.

As there are quite a few common modes missing like for instance the Wenger Traveler (hotlinked) I think there will be quite a few pictures of them :D but no problem. There are a lot of variations of that model and we'd love to upload them all to add to the Variations tab.

Please post pictures of the SAKs fanned, with all the tools opened and visible like in this nice picture meanx uploaded.

All of the authors of the pictures will be named in the picture descriptions in the wiki galleries. :salute:

Thank you very much and I'm looking forward to seeing what beautiful pictures we can collect.

Thank you all who are helping out with this project. :hatsoff: It's progressing nicely. :D I still have to dig through the wiki archives and see if we have some of the missing pics stored somewhere and also add a few pages on certain tools that we don't have pages for. I'll probably need help with some of the trade specific ones, like the ones one the SGT Wengers. Hopefully we have members here who know more about them.

I noticed the other day that the Victorinox Atlas picture was missing.
I'd have thought that was a common SAK.

Doesn't anyone have one?

I think I've got one  but I can't be certain.

@stressmaster - yep you've got a problem alright judging by that lot - lol How many!!
How long has it taken you to amass all those?? :o

Too many and too long. Now it has all caught up with me and I am having to trim my collection down. :(

BTW, that was just 1 box I unpacked and it was mostly the 85mm models. I have loads of 65mm and several Ranger models too.

I've just been going through my Wenger collection and realised I have massive holes!! Problem is I'm quickly running out of money too - lol
Time to get realistic I fear!

Negative! That question is impossible to answer. Besides it fluctuates as I get new ones or sell off some.

My Victorinox collection is huge! :ahhh
