eBay: Gerber 650 Military

A listing for this has just appeared (and with a spare handle too).

If anyone is interested I should let you know I am digging deep into my pockets and have bid hard on this one (but if your pockets are deeper than mine, good luck to you   :pok: )

Very sporting of you mate. I usually just shut up about anything I am intending bidding on.

That's what I normally do, but I know so many people on here want one of these and it is properly identified in the listing so it is going to get found anyway ......

Sometimes I've found out after the event that I was been bidding against fellow MTo'ers on "I want this one" items in the past and we've ended up driving the price higher, which benefits the seller more all the would-be buyers.  Some members even recognise the ebay buyer Ids of fellow MTo'ers and don't bid when they notice, which is very nice  .

I wonder if an "MTo buyers cartel" would be against eBay policies ?  Where all interested parties submit their (honest) highest bid and the person with the highest figure gets to bid that and the rest don't bid.  That way we aren't unnecessarily driving the price up, but the right buyer would still win the auction.  I could see that working if we could meet up physically, but it requires a fair amount of trust and ethical behaviour from everyone to work on-line.  It is an interesting concept, anyway.

How many of us Aussies here? Hard to get a good deal as not many people want to sell overseas apart from evil bay.

Quite a few Aussies on this forum, and people from many other countries as well.  This is a truly multi-national conglomerate  ;)

Some people refuse to sell overseas after one bad experience, unfortunately, and many fleaBay sellers don't want to do international either :(

Oh well, I'm out.  It's up to $US 342.78 and my pockets aren't THAT deep.

If anyone was holding back to be nice to me then feel free to unleash your big bucks and have at it  :pok:  unless i***m (189) is also an MTo member, in which case I wish you luck  :tu:

( I won't be upping my bid, I just don't want it that badly).

In case anyone wants to check on it, here's a link:

Hey Greg

Feel for you pal.

I just looked up the auction earlier...

With just under 5 days to go, I reckon that's gonna go for more than $500+

Y'know, maybe these silly prices we keep seeing are a direct result of MT'Os success.
Great news if you're the owner, bad news for us guys.

Chin up  :tu:

I would really love to have one of those sets, but I could never bring myself to spend that much. :(

Can't wait to see  more pics of it when it arrives.

I must admit that $100.00 is usually a significant psychological barrier for me, but I blew that big time on this purchase (which shows just how badly I wanted it).  I think I've only got 3 or 4 other tools that cost me much over $100, and they were all special (and rare) in some way.

Sorry, David's right - no pics (technologically challenged).

I really am amazed that collecting of multitools is so large, I couldn't imagine having that kind of money to put down on a tool that probably won't even be used due to its collect-ability.
I'm a total legend..... in my own mind- Herley
