My Swisschamp SOS and a question.
on: March 22, 2009, 11:59:32 PM
I bought this Swisschamp SOS Kit circa 1990.  It's seen lots of use and it never failed me.  This thing is the earliest thing I ever purchased that I still have.  That's a testament to both it's quality of workmanship and it's clever design.

It's been a drawer queen for years now and hasn't gotten much attention.  It's time for me to clean it and replace it's missing accesories.

My question is:  It's missing the spring on the pliers.  I have seen sites on the net that sell springs but they list them as large or small plier springs.  Do I need the large spring?  Also can anyone suggest a place for replacement parts they have used and been happy with?

Thanks in advance.
:)

Is that pouch still available? I found a leather pouch in the style, mine is the double pouch side by side.

Great looking SAK there, it deserves being used

Cool!!!  You have the OD SOS kit.  I had a friend of mine back then in 1990 get one of those.

I got my SOS kit in 1989, 100% leather.  The side accessory flaps have deteriorated to the point if you even attempt to remove the items, the leather tears.

The newer SOS kits have velcro closure in lieu of the leather slits holding the side accessory flaps down.
