Here's the follow-up:First off, it belongs to the older daughter, not the son (Generic first name so I wasn't sure which it belonged to).She is off to college in Colorado. She is HUGE into mountaineering, rock climbing, minimalist camping/hiking/trekking and backcountry skiing. Her grandmother (the whole family lives on the farm) said that she becomes very attached to her gear and that she will be ecstatic to get her SAK back. She flies out of Philly airport regularly for trips to Europe and Latin America and that's where it was confiscated. The family is trying to figure out a prank to return it to her.My wife dropped it off this afternoon. Unbelieveable.
Bump just because it's a neat story.

You could have made a business card with some security agency logo on it, send it with a note:"You have been cleared, for now. Here's your knife back. You'll be monitored."
