Any Interest For An Ohio Valley Meet?
on: April 02, 2009, 03:51:50 AM
I've been exchanging PMs with ALP,and I'm wanting to know if there's any interest for those that live in or reasonably near the Ohio Valley for a meet.

I'll be in Columbus sometime in July. How many hours south of there are we talking?

If we have it on the forth of July I'll bring my rocket launcher. It would have to be closer to Parkersburg though.

I'd need a specific date.  Time off from work is a tricky thing--lead time is the key.

Right now, sometime in July looks feasible,of course it'll be fine tuned as time gets closer. How much lead time do you need?

Well, 4-6 weeks usually, but Summer is a tricky time.  OTOH, there are occasional weekends that will still be open, just less predictable.

I'm interested... although I'm not to excited about the prospect of spending any amount of time in Ohio :pok:

West Virginia has some of the greatest motorcycle roads on the east coast.  Getting a chance to ride them is just an added bonus.

Is that the one where you are allowed to jump off it?

I think that's the New River Gorge.  Folks BASE jump off it.  There's a lot of rock climbing at the New River Gorge.

If there's anything at all to this global warming thing,in a few years,Michigan will be the new Tennessee.
And think of Ohio as being like Michigan with fewer Great Lakes :D

As fairly close as I am to the New River Gorge,I've only been there once,on the New River Excursion trains that are run in the autumn. Some superb white water rafting goes on there on the New and Gauley Rivers.

Not much to update, right now.I'm hoping the end of the school year brings on some more interest before gas prices start upward again.

I'd be interested. I live just outside of Youngstown. As long as we're talking an hour or two drive I'd be down for a get together. To be honest I wouldn't drive 4 hours to hang out with a bunch of tool geeks from an internet forum. :pok:  :D
