Well, from my perspective, a 700 mile round trip ride for a couple hour meet Sat. afternoon was a bit shy of an epic event. No promise of fire or personal injury either, so we spent extra time out in CO instead. $:-\$

Heath and Safety demanded we had a Police escort for flying the bloomer flags, and given the hardware we were packing that didn't seem a good idea

As for the Benner t shirts, well the Polar Bear protection society would have torn us to shreds, and not in a good way

At the Maine Meetup in Portland last September, Bob and I were standing ten feet apart, talking to each other on the phone, and both wearing Leatherman shirts, and neither of us saw the other for a good five minutes!

Oh, and we'd not only seen pics of each other, but we'd also met at the SHOT Show last year!

The rest were easy- I rented a trailer at a camp ground and everyone just drove up and knocked on the door. When we got back from the grocery store Joe and his wife Hillary were already there waiting for us, and then MoHawkChucker

showed up later on, again not having a problem spotting us as we were two trailers up from his.

I think it's easier when you make it at least an overnight thing as a hotel room or campsite makes it easier for folks to all converge in one place. I can also recommend SOSAK or Multitool.org t-shirts, which help greatly!
