My crunch will no longer stay closed. It can still be used but does not stay closed so terrible to carry in a pocket.

A guy had the same problem and somebody said it might be an inner spring that is out of place, this is what I had thought too. This was not a gradual thing, just suddenly happened after using it.

I am not sure if it can be opened up. I was hoping there might be some trick like holding it a certain way and giving it a knock with a mallet or something to shift the pin back in place. If I knew what it looked like inside I might have a better idea but cannot find anything. I am in warranty but do not want the hassle & cost of shipping.

-Otherwise I am delighted with it. I have a sharpened tungsten spike I can hold in the pin vice for etching lines on steel or doing other work. I have also held a bit of pencil lead in the pin vice so you can hold it nicely for writing, could also hold a pen, like a swiss army knife pen.

yes, the spring is really strong now. When you are trying to close it the upper jaw (without the pivot thing) springs back open really fast. Gone are the days of 1 hand closing, its difficult enough with 2 hands, you have to keep a finger pressed on the springy jaw while trying to close it over.

I have a squirt with a broken scissors spring too, I might see if I can send both at once to get better value on the shipping.

Surely it has already been said but I ask you for your patience. Does Crunch currently have writing on one or two sides? In my old man it was about two but now I think not. It's right? Since when did this change? Thank you all :facepalm:

I haven't seen one yet where there was no writing on one handle. Both handles have the Leatherman Crunch writing on one side on mine (0711/0911) :hatsoff:
